Role Overview
The Accounts and Compliance Executive will be responsible for managing end-to-end accounting and statutory compliance activities for clients handled by the firm. The role includes maintaining accurate books of accounts, ensuring timely completion of periodical compliances under various tax and labour laws, preparing monthly MIS reports, and supporting audit finalisation. The candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all accounting and compliance functions are performed in a timely, efficient, and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting s Bookkeeping
• Handle day-to-day accounting entries, including sales, purchases, bank transactions, and journal vouchers.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledgers, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Ensure timely closure of monthly books of accounts for each client.
- Perform bank reconciliations, inter-company reconciliations, and other periodic reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly trial balance and support management in financial review.
1. Compliance Management
• Prepare and file periodic returns under TDS, GST, Professional Tax, PF, and ESIC.
- Maintain compliance trackers to ensure all statutory filings and payments are done within due dates.
- Assist in preparation of TDS computation, challans, and quarterly returns (Form 24Q, 26Q, etc.).
- Prepare and file monthly/quarterly GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, annual returns where applicable).
- Handle employee-related statutory filings including PF, ESIC, and PT remittances and returns.
- Keep abreast of changes in relevant laws and regulations affecting clients’ compliance requirements.
3.Payroll Processing
- Manage end-to-end payroll process including salary computation, deductions, and payslip generation.
- Ensure statutory deductions (TDS, PF, ESI, PT) are accurately computed and remitted.
- Maintain employee master data and coordinate with clients for payroll-related updates.
1. MIS s Reporting
• Prepare Monthly MIS Reports summarising client financials, key ratios, and variance analysis.
- Discuss monthly performance and financial summaries with the client’s management.
- Support clients with management reports for budgeting and decision-making.
1. Audit Support
• Assist in year-end audit finalisation by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and necessary audit documents.
- Coordinate with auditors and address audit queries promptly.
- Ensure books are audit-ready with proper documentation and backup.
Qualifications s Experience
- Educational Qualification: B.Com / M.Com or CA aspirant (Inter CA preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 1 to 1.5 years of hands-on experience in accounting and statutory compliance functions (preferably in a CA firm environment).
- Technical Skills:
o Working knowledge of Tally Prime / Zoho Books / QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
o Proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
o Familiarity with GSTN, Income Tax, PF C ESIC portals for filings.
