Role Description The Website Launch Assistant is a remote, contract role focused on supporting the preparation, testing, and launch of the organization’s website. Day-to-day tasks may include organizing and uploading content, checking links and page layouts, ensuring accessibility and usability, and coordinating updates with designers, developers, and editors. The role involves documenting issues, tracking changes, and helping refine site structure and navigation so visitors can easily find books and resources.

Assistant may also assist with basic quality assurance, reviewing web pages for accuracy and consistency, and providing feedback to improve the user experience.

Qualifications

- Ability to work with website content management systems and basic web publishing tools; familiarity with organizing and uploading digital content.
- Attention to detail in reviewing pages for accuracy, formatting, functionality, and accessibility; comfort with basic quality assurance checklists.
- Strong written communication skills for documenting issues, providing explicit feedback, and collaborating with remote team members.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and follow structured project plans.
- Interest in literacy, education, or language preservation, particularly for children and low-resource languages.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, with reliable internet access and commitment to agreed timelines.
- Prior experience supporting website launches, content migration, or digital publishing is an asset but not required.
