NJob Objective:

NTo plan, supervise & deliver highest standard of physiotherapy services to patients. Maximizes a patient's functional independence through thorough assessment, treatment planning, treatment implementation and treatment evaluation & communicate assessment and treatment outcomes with the interdisciplinary team through documentation and team meetings.

NJob Responsibilities:

N1) Continuum of Care

n

N
- Ascertain appropriate information regarding the present problem
N
- Assess the patients current functional status
N
- Planning all treatment procedures
N
- Treatment implementation
N
- Treatment evaluation
N
- Ensures safe and effective discharge planning for all patients
N

n2) Leadership and Management

N

n
- Participates in continuing education to update skills and knowledge in order to provide optimum level of patient care and student supervision.
N
- Ensures implementation of departmental policies and procedures
N
- Participates in Departmental and Organizational meetings, other meetings as required
N
- Actively participate inteam activities
N
- Organizes and implementin-service training sessions for staff, the physiotherapy assistant and volunteers
N
- Teaches appropriately and supervises physiotherapy students and provide regular feedback and documentation of the clinical placement required
N

n3) Information Management

N

n
- Manages and maintains information relevant to physiotherapy services
N
- Records accurate statistics within the last working day of each pay fortnight or as appropriate
N
- Notes written in patients records according to Policy and Procedure manual within 24 hours of service
N




- Adheres to the policiesfor use of Information Technology
N
- Supervises the recording of statistics and documentation by the physiotherapy students
N
- Providing home care program discharge instructions
N
- Documenting the patientdetails in register and entering the clinical notes in the HIS.
N
- Communicating with Consultant regarding the progress of the patient if required.
N

n4) Safe Practice and Workplace

N

n
- Adheres to safe work practices as per departmental and Medicitys Health Policy and Procedures
N
- Teaches and maintains safe patient handling practices through skills training of relevant staff and carers
N
- Be aware of safety/emergency procedures within the department and hospital. Attend annual fire safety & Emergency training, CPR, pool rescue and infection control in services.
N
- Adheres to infection control policies & procedures
N
- Organizes appropriate maintenance of Physiotherapy equipment as required
N
- Creates and maintain a work environment which is safe for staff, patients and visitors
N

n5) Improving Performance

N

n
- Pursues actively professional development and implements quality improvement practices
N
- Ensures continuous Quality Improvement through high quality work practices
N
- Assists in the implementation of department quality improvement activities
N
- Active participation inprofessional ongoing education and review of current literature
N
- Participates in regularin-service education
N
- Participates in regularsupervision sessions with direct clinical supervisor
N
- Any other duties given by the Chairman- Institute of Neurosciences
