5+ years of experience in automotive exterior trim design and Current Part Development (NPD). Expert in CATIA V5; familiarity with 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) is a plus. Strong knowledge of GD&T;, Teamcenter PLM, and Vismockup for vehicle integration. In-depth understanding of automotive standards, safety requirements, and regulations. Proficient in plastic product design and manufacturing processes. Excellent communication skills; self-motivated and able to work independently.
Domain knowledge
Independently design and develop automotive Interior trim components ensuring compliance with engineering requirements and vehicle integration criteria.
Develop detailed CAD designs in CATIA V5 based on engineering directions, applying accurate GD&T; to guarantee part fit and function. Integrate designs within the digital vehicle context using Vismockup, ensuring proper attachment and alignment to the digital vehicle structure.
Manage product data and configurations through Teamcenter,
maintaining strict release and change management protocols for chassis and exterior trim components. Conduct benchmarking and packaging studies to optimize the positioning and function of exterior trim parts within vehicle architecture.
Collaborate with Design & Release (D&R;) engineers, styling, manufacturing, and supplier teams to resolve technical issues and ensure manufacturability and quality compliance. Participate in design reviews, evaluate feedback critically, and implement improvements to enhance product robustness and delivery timelines.
Assess manufacturing feasibility, assembly processes, and serviceability at early design stages to ensure practical, cost-effective solutions. Identify and pursue opportunities for design and process improvement leveraging digital tools, automation, and cutting-edge methods
