Location: Pune / Bengaluru /n Employment Type: Contract / Staff Augmentation /n About the Role /n You will join the Barclays SDN Operations team as part of a Broadcom-led group of 9 engineers, focused on upgrades and ongoing maintenance of VMware NSX and HCX platforms. This is a purely operational/upgrade-focused role, not a migration role. /n Responsibilities /n /n
Plan and execute upgrades and patches for VMware NSX in production and non-production environments, ensuring stability and minimal downtime

/n
Perform VMware HCX upgrades (appliances, connectors, service meshes) including pre-checks, execution, and post-upgrade validation.

/n
Carry out ongoing operational maintenance on NSX and HCX platforms, including configuration changes, health checks and remediation.

/n
Collaborate with the Broadcom SDN engineering team and Barclays SDN Ops to schedule and execute change windows under formal change management.

/n
Troubleshoot L2/L3 and security issues related to NSX and HCX components and coordinate with vendors as needed.





/n
Produce clear technical documentation: runbooks, MOPs, implementation and rollback plans, and post-change reports.

/n
Act as a Level 3 escalation point for NSX/HCX incidents and participate in problem management and RCA activities.

/n /n Required Skills & Experience /n /n
5–8 years of hands-on VMware infrastructure experience with solid exposure to NSX (NSX-T preferred).

/n
Proven experience with NSX upgrades and lifecycle operations in large enterprise environments.

/n
Hands-on experience in HCX platform upgrades; positive understanding of HCX architecture and components.

/n
Solid networking fundamentals: VLANs, VXLAN/Geneve, routing (BGP/OSPF), firewalls, and micro-segmentation.

/n
Experience working in ITIL-based environments and regulated industries (e.g., banking or financial services).
