We are seeking an experienced z/OS Developer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in IBM Mainframe technologies. The ideal candidate will have solid expertise in application development, enhancement, and support on IBM z/OS platforms, with proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and mainframe utilities. The candidate will work closely with business and technical teams to deliver reliable and scalable enterprise solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain applications on IBM z/OS environments.
Develop and support programs using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Perform code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and production deployments.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes.
Develop batch and online processing solutions in a high-volume transaction setting.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, architects, and support teams.
Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning activities.
Ensure adherence to coding standards, security requirements,



and best practices.
Support Agile/Scrum delivery processes and participate in sprint activities.
Required Skills
5+ years of experience in IBM Mainframe/zOS application development.
Robust hands-on experience with:
o COBOL
o JCL
o CICS
o DB2
o VSAM
o TSO/ISPF
Experience with mainframe debugging and performance tuning.
Knowledge of batch processing and online transaction systems.
Experience in production support and incident management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with IBM MQ, Connect:Direct, FTP/SFTP, or file transfer solutions.
Exposure to z/OS Connect, REST APIs, and mainframe modernization initiatives.
Knowledge of Endevor, Changeman, or other source control tools.
Experience with DevOps and CI/CD practices for mainframe environments.
Exposure to cloud integration and hybrid architecture solutions.
