Job Description: Mold Designer (Plastics)Qualification Required
CIPET-PDPMD / IGTR / NTTF / GTTC / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Solid oral and written communication skills, with ability to collaborate effectively as a positive team member.

Technical Expertise
Proficiency in plastic injection mold design, including hot runner systems, for industries such as automotive, medical, electrical switchgear, and pumps.
High proficiency in 3D CAD design (Siemens NX preferred; Solid Edge, Creo also acceptable).
Experience designing jigs & fixtures.
Hands-on knowledge of Design Controls, verification & validation, and high-volume manufacturing processes.
Thorough understanding of part geometry, moldability & capability studies, tolerance analysis, GD&T.;
Knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturability) principles.

Roles & Responsibilities
Develop 3D models of plastic parts and injection molds using Siemens NX and related CAD tools.
Generate core and cavity designs, mold bases, ejector systems, cooling channels, gating, and runner systems.




Utilize automation tools (e.g., NX Mold Wizard) for effective and accurate mold generation.
Perform mold flow analysis, part validation, and simulation to ensure manufacturability and optimize design.
Conduct mold optimization, debugging, and design changes with rapid turnaround while maintaining design integrity.
Prepare technical documentation, 2D drawings, mold specifications, and checklists.
Review and revise drawings for dimensional accuracy and tolerance stack-ups.
Provide technical support to production regarding process issues, tooling improvements, and quality problems.
Design secondary operation fixtures and support process development.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, analysis, production) to align mold designs with project requirements.
