Job Description: Atlassian Senior Engineer
Role Overview
The Atlassian Senior Engineer is a hands-on technical expert responsible for configuring, extending, maintaining, migrating and optimising Atlassian platforms across enterprise settings.
They work closely with Atlassian Architects, product owners, engineering teams, and programme stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with best practices, governance standards and business needs.
They play a key role in build, run, test, integration, and continuous improvement activities, ensuring the Atlassian platform is performant, secure, scalable and easy to adopt.
Key Responsibilities
Atlassian Platform Configuration & Administration
Configure workflows, custom fields, schemes, issue types, SLAs, queues, forms and request types meeting the business needs
Configure Marketplace apps conforming to the business needs
Build automations using Jira Automation, ScriptRunner, PowerScripts or Forge.
Build agents using Forge and Atlassian Studio
Maintain user management, permissions, roles,
and access patterns in accordance with governance.
Solution Build & Technical Delivery
Build and test platform components, integrations, dashboards, metrics, and reporting solutions.
Support the creation of technical documentation, procedures, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
Ensure engineering deliverables follow standards and platform guardrails defined in the Atlassian governance model
Contribute to the ongoing capability development building marketplace solutions
Support technical enablement of the wider team
Integration Engineering & Automation
Develop and maintain integrations with CI/CD pipelines, Code repos, identity systems, monitoring tools, API-based workflows and external platforms.
Implement end-to-end DevOps automation patterns, ensuring traceability across delivery and ITSM processes.
Cloud Migration & Modernisation Support
Drive Atlassian Cloud migrations using
