L3 Network Lead Engineer – Job Description
Role: L3 Network Lead Engineer
Experience
8+ years of experience in Network Engineering, with strong L3 troubleshooting and network architecture experience.
Experience in enterprise/banking or large-scale infrastructure environments preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Lead L3 network operations, troubleshooting, incident management, and resolution of complex network issues.
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, Data Center, and cloud environments.
Provide advanced troubleshooting for routing, switching, VPN, firewall, load balancer, and network security issues.
Handle major incidents, perform RCA, and implement permanent corrective actions.
Lead network changes, upgrades, migrations, and network optimization activities.
Review network designs, configurations, implementation plans, and technical documentation.
Coordinate with application, security, infrastructure, OEM, and service-provider teams for issue resolution.




Mentor L1/L2 network engineers and provide technical guidance on complex incidents.
Ensure network availability, performance, capacity, security, and SLA compliance.
Participate in DR drills, network audits, vulnerability remediation, and business continuity activities.
Maintain SOPs, network diagrams, configuration documents, and troubleshooting procedures.

Technical Skills
Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI, DNS, DHCP, ARP, NAT, SNMP and network protocols.
Expert-level experience in routing and switching.
Hands-on experience with OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, VRF, VLAN, STP/RSTP/MSTP.
Solid experience with Cisco routers, switches and enterprise networking technologies.
Experience with Cisco SD-WAN / SD-Access is preferred.
Robust knowledge of IPSec VPN, SSL VPN, GRE and DMVPN.
Working knowledge of firewalls such as Check Point, Cisco ASA/FTD and FortiGate.
Experience with F5 Load Balancers and high-availability configurations.
