About the Role
Schneider Electric – Lauritz Knudsen is looking for a technically strong and motivated R&D; – Embedded & Hardware Design to lead product development and engineering activities for innovative electrical and industrial products.
The role combines technical leadership, people management and hands-on product development, taking products from concept and architecture through prototyping, validation, certification and production release.
Key Responsibilities
Lead R&D; engineers working on embedded hardware, electronics and electrical product development.
Drive the complete New Product Development (NPD) lifecycle from concept to production.
Define and review system architecture, hardware design and technical specifications.
Provide technical guidance on analog/digital electronics, embedded systems and power electronics.
Lead design reviews, technical risk assessments and problem-solving activities.
Drive DFMEA/FMEA, verification & validation, reliability testing and root-cause analysis.
Ensure compliance with applicable IEC, UL, CE, EMC/EMI and product safety requirements.
Collaborate with Global R&D;, Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain teams.
Support engineering change management, product cost optimization and design improvements.
Manage project priorities, technical deliverables and R&D; resources.
Mentor engineers and build robust technical capabilities within the team.
Technical Skills
Experience in several of the following areas:
Embedded Hardware Design
MCU-based systems – STM32 / ARM Cortex-M
Analog & Digital Electronics
Power Electronics
SMPS and DC-DC converters
Relay drivers and protection circuits
RS485 / Modbus / CAN / Ethernet
Signal isolation and digital isolators
PCB design and hardware development
EMI/EMC design and troubleshooting
LTspice / PSpice / other simulation tools
Oscilloscope, power analyzer and laboratory instruments
IEC / UL / CE compliance
DFMEA / FMEA
Design Verification & Validation (DV/PV)
Root Cause Analysis and failure investigation
Leadership & Management
Lead a team of R&D; engineers and provide technical and project leadership.
Convert customer and business requirements into practical engineering solutions.
Balance performance, cost, quality, reliability and time-to-market.
Take ownership of complex technical challenges.
Coordinate with cross-functional and global engineering teams.
Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices.
Encourage innovation, design reuse and continuous improvement.
Desired Experience
5–10 years of experience in Electronics, Embedded Systems, Hardware Design, Power Electronics or Electrical Product R&D.;
Experience in product development from concept to mass production.
Hands-on experience with hardware design, debugging and validation.
Experience with industrial automation, electrical distribution, motor control, protection or related products is an advantage.
Good understanding of product development and engineering change processes.
Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience in leading projects or mentoring engineers is preferred.
Lead innovative R&D; and product development programs.
Work on advanced electrical, embedded and automation technologies.
Collaborate with global R&D; teams.
