About We Connect
We Connect is a Hyderabad-based professional event management company delivering end-to-end solutions for brands and organizations.
Our work spans corporate events, exhibitions, promotions, convergence programs, loyalty initiatives, sports events, seminars and other experiential marketing initiatives. We work closely with clients to understand their objectives and create experiences that are tailored to their brand, audience and business requirements.
By bringing multiple aspects of event planning and execution together, We Connect provides clients with a cohesive, single-point solution for their event and marketing needs.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Graphic Designer & Visual Content Specialist with at least 3 years of professional experience who can take ownership of the visual communication produced by We Connect and its clients.
This is a creative and execution-heavy role spanning social-media design, visual content strategy, event creatives, video editing and brand design.
We are not looking for someone who simply receives a brief and produces a predetermined design.
The ideal candidate should be able to understand a communication objective, develop the visual direction, present a creative approach and execute it to a professional standard.
You will work closely with the Content Writer, Marketing team and Team Leader to develop campaigns and content that communicate clearly, look distinctive and hold audience attention.
The role requires both creative independence and disciplined execution. You should be comfortable bringing your own ideas to the table while working within deadlines, campaign requirements and team workflows.
Creative Responsibility Hierarchy The role will broadly operate across the following areas:
Social Media Design → Visual Content Strategy → Event Design → Video Editing → Brand Design
While social media is an important part of the role, this is not a social-media-only design position. Event creatives and professional video editing are substantial parts of the day-to-day responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
1. Social Media Design
- Develop visually engaging creative concepts for social-media platforms.
- Design posts, carousels, campaign creatives, promotional material and other digital assets.
- Translate written content and campaign ideas into compelling visual communication.
- Work closely with the Content Writer to develop concepts where copy and design strengthen each other.
- Understand platform-specific formats, dimensions and visual conventions.
- Design content with audience attention and retention in mind.
- Develop visual approaches that are distinctive rather than relying on repetitive templates.
- Maintain consistency in visual language, typography, composition and brand identity.
2. Visual Content Strategy
- Contribute to the visual direction of social-media campaigns and broader marketing initiatives.
- Develop visual concepts based on a client's objectives, target audience and brand positioning.
- Think about how individual creatives work together as part of a larger campaign or content series.
- Collaborate with the Content Writer to develop integrated content concepts.
- Proactively suggest new creative formats, visual treatments and approaches.
- Stay aware of current design, social-media and visual communication trends.
3. Event Creatives & Experiential Design The designer will also be responsible for developing creative assets for We Connect's corporate events, exhibitions and other client requirements.
This may include
- Event branding
- Stage backdrops
- Standees
- Hoardings
- Exhibition graphics
- Directional signage
- Event invitations
- Certificates
- Digital screens
- Promotional collateral
- Event-specific social-media creatives
- Other physical and digital event assets
The designer should be comfortable taking a broad event requirement and developing a cohesive visual direction across multiple touchpoints. Print & Production
- Prepare artwork according to professional print specifications.
- Understand resolution, dimensions, colour modes, bleed, typography and other print-production requirements.
- Prepare files appropriately for different printing and fabrication requirements.
- Coordinate with the Marketing/Event team and external production or printing partners when required.
- Ensure designs are technically accurate before production.
Direct vendor management will not necessarily be the primary responsibility, but the designer should understand enough about production to communicate effectively with vendors and identify potential issues. 4. Video Editing & Motion Graphics
Video editing is a significant part of this role, rather than an optional additional skill.
The designer will be expected to:
- Edit short-form social-media videos and reels.
- Develop motion-based content for campaigns and events.
- Edit event and promotional videos.
- Create motion graphics and animated visual elements.
- Work with typography, transitions, effects, pacing and sound to create engaging videos.
- Adapt video content for different social-media platforms.
- Work with the Content Writer to translate written concepts/scripts into visual video content.
- Understand visual storytelling and how pacing affects audience retention.
- Where required, contribute to video direction and visual treatment.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro is strongly preferred. Occasional event attendance may be required where understanding the environment or providing direction for video production is necessary.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- 3+ years of professional graphic-design experience.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating original creative thinking and professional execution.
- Excellent understanding of graphic-design fundamentals.
- Strong understanding of typography, composition, hierarchy, colour and visual balance.
- Ability to conceptualize visual directions independently.
- Strong social-media design experience.
- Professional-level video-editing capability.
- Ability to create designs for both digital and physical environments.
Software & Technical Skills Professional proficiency with industry-standard design software is expected.
Strong experience with the Adobe Creative Suite is highly desirable, particularly:
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe InDesign
- Adobe After Effects
- Adobe Premiere Pro
Experience with other professional design, video or motion-graphics platforms will also be considered. Knowledge of AI-assisted creative and design tools is an advantage, particularly where these tools are used intelligently to improve ideation, workflow and production without compromising originality or quality.
Canva experience alone is not considered equivalent to professional graphic-design capability.
Preferred The following will strengthen an applicant's profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, Design, Advertising, Media or a related field.
- Experience working with event-management, advertising, marketing or creative agencies.
- Experience designing for corporate brands.
- Experience with large-format and event production.
- Advanced After Effects and Premiere Pro skills.
Educational qualifications are preferred, but demonstrated design ability and portfolio quality are more important than the degree itself. The Kind of Person We're Looking For
Creative
You should naturally think in concepts, not just templates. We want someone who can look at a requirement and ask:
"What is the most compelling way we can communicate this?"
Original
Originality is a major part of this role. We value designers who can develop their own visual language and creative approaches rather than simply reproducing existing designs or trends.
Punctual
Creative quality does not excuse missed deadlines. Events and campaigns operate according to fixed timelines, so delivering work when promised is essential.
Ownership-driven
You should be able to take responsibility for a project from understanding the requirement through conceptualization, execution, revisions and final delivery.
We want someone who can confidently say:
"I have a better creative approach for this."
while also understanding when a project needs to be delivered according to an agreed direction and deadline.
Working Environment
This is a full-time, in office position based in Hyderabad.
Working days: Monday–Saturday
Working hours: 10:00 AM–6:00 PM The nature of event management means that certain projects may occasionally require work beyond standard working hours. Any additional hours will be compensated according to company policy.
Employee benefits and other employment terms will be discussed during the hiring process.
Career Growth The role provides the opportunity to grow into positions such as:
Senior Graphic Designer
Creative Lead
Visual Content Strategist
Art Director
Marketing Lead
Growth will be based on performance, creative contribution, ownership, adaptability and the individual's ability to take on increasing responsibility.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit
An updated CV/Resume.
A professional portfolio demonstrating their design capabilities.
Examples of social-media design.
Examples of event or corporate design where available.
Examples of video/motion work.
The portfolio will be a significant part of the selection process.
Design Assessment
Shortlisted candidates will be given one practical creative assignment designed to assess:
Creativity
Originality
Concept development
Ability to interpret a brief
Visual communication
Speed
Technical execution
Ability to deliver a polished final creative The assessment is intended to evaluate how the candidate thinks as a designer, not simply their ability to operate design software.
