Role Overview
We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer to build and maintain scalable backend applications and APIs that support the customer journey at Booking.com. You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data teams to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and data-driven capabilities.
Solve technical challenges to improve system performance and engineering efficiency.
Participate in system design and architecture discussions.
Analyze complex problems and deliver scalable, long-term solutions.
Ensure reliability and integrity of business-critical platforms and payment systems.
Requirements
6+ years of software engineering experience.
Robust programming skills in Java (Python or Golang is a plus).
Experience with System Design and Software Architecture.
Solid problem-solving and collaboration skills.
Experience with Reliability, Observability, Monitoring, or SRE concepts is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
