They detail how specific components (e.g., millwork, steel, HVAC) will be manufactured, assembled, and installed on-site, ensuring all exact dimensions and materials align with industry standards.
Using CAD software, such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks, to prepare technical drawings
Working with engineers and other specialists to produce drawings that meet their specifications
Writing related technical documents such as material lists and cost estimates
Ensuring that all drawings are accurate and meet industry standards
Maintaining a library of standard drawing templates
Updating existing drawings as current information becomes available




Generate 2D and 3D models and drawings using AutoCAD software.
Organise and maintain drawing files and project documentation.
Coordinate with other drafters and team members to ensure consistency in drawings.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate design changes and updates.
Conduct quality checks to ensure drawings meet industry standards.
Meet project deadlines and timelines for drawing submissions.
