Role & responsibilities
Lead analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of COBOL-based banking solutions.
Review code, enforce engineering standards, optimise SQL/batch performance and ensure high-quality releases.
Guide developers, allocate work, provide technical mentoring and support delivery estimates and planning.
Collaborate with product owners, banking SMEs, architects, operations and testing teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
Own production incidents, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, documentation and knowledge transfer.
Support regulatory, security, audit and operational-resilience requirements applicable to banking systems.

Domain

Banking preferably Core Banking, Deposits, Lending, Payments, Cards or Customer Information systems

Preferred candidate profile

1-Advanced COBOL programming, code review and optimisation.

2- Banking domain knowledge: deposits, lending, payments and customer accounts.

3- PL/SQL, cursor handling and performance tuning .

4- Batch/online processing .

5- COBOL File Handling.
