Job Summary

About The Team We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead backend infrastructure powering mission-critical, ultra-low latency systems. This role will own high-performance distributed systems that process millions of events per second with strict SLA, determinism, and fault tolerance requirements. You will lead a team building core components such as order management systems (OMS), risk engines (RMS), matching engines, market data pipelines, and real-time ledger systems.

This is not a generic backend role - this is systems engineering at scale.

Responsibilities
Architect and evolve backend systems for ultra-low latency workloads
Own performance benchmarking, load testing, and capacity planning
Drive decisions on storage engines (e.g., RocksDB, in-memory stores, log-based systems)
Ensure correctness under high concurrency
Lead production incident reviews and postmortems
Collaborate with Product, Risk, and Infra teams
Define SLAs and SLOs for critical systems
Establish observability practices for latency, throughput, and determinism

Requirements
Distributed systems design
Concurrency and multi-threading
Memory management and performance tuning
Network stack fundamentals
Linux internals (epoll, kernel tuning, NUMA awareness)
Experience With:



Java / C++ / Rust (low-level performance optimization)
In-memory data stores
Event streaming systems
Lock-free or low-lock architectures
High-throughput message queues
Load testing at scale

Preferred Qualifications
Trading systems / exchange / fintech infra experience
OMS, RMS, or matching engine exposure
Deterministic system design
Market data systems
Kernel bypass (DPDK), if applicable
