Role Summary

n

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer – Chat SDK Lead to own a React-based component library powering AI chat interfaces across the organization. The role involves technical ownership of the SDK, release management, real-time streaming capabilities, testing, and direct collaboration with consumer engineering teams.

Mandatory Skills

n

- n
- 5+ years of hands-on experience building and shipping React component libraries or SDKs consumed by multiple teams.n
- Strong expertise in TypeScript, including generics, discriminated unions, strict mode, and declaration emit.n
- Solid experience with React and modern frontend architecture.n
- Hands-on experience with SSE/streaming protocols and real-time application development.n
- Strong understanding of AbortController lifecycle and cancellation patterns.n
- Experience with real-time state management using React Query, useReducer, Context, or equivalent approaches.n
- Experience designing and maintaining public APIs/component libraries with a focus on backward compatibility and extensibility.n
- Hands-on experience with release management, including Semantic Versioning (semver), changelogs, breaking-change management, and monorepo tooling.n
- Experience with Turborepo, Changesets, or equivalent monorepo/release management tools.n




- Ability to lead technical discussions with product/engineering teams, negotiate API contracts and technical trade-offs, and prepare migration documentation.n
- Strong experience with automated testing for complex frontend/public API surfaces.n

- Experience building AI/LLM chat interfaces, including streaming completions and tool-call rendering.n
- Experience with React 19, including Server Component boundaries and "use client" patterns.n
- Experience with multi-model/provider integrations or AI gateway abstractions.n
- Experience with Storybook, Biome and tsdown.n
- Experience with TanStack React Query.n
- Exposure to OpenAI SSE and AG-UI/custom streaming events.n
- Experience with local-first storage and client-side data eviction strategies.n
- Experience with Portkey AI Gateway or similar multi-provider abstraction layers.n

Key Responsibilities

- Own the technical direction and architecture of the Chat SDK.n
- Design and maintain streaming interfaces and real-time state management.n
- Handle complex streaming scenarios including tool-call correlation and provider-specific events.n
- Own SDK release lifecycle, versioning and breaking-change coordination.n
- Establish and maintain comprehensive automated test coverage.n
- Work directly with consumer teams on integration, troubleshooting, API contracts and extensibility.n
- Create migration guides and technical documentation for SDK consumers.n
