About the Role

VedPrep is looking for skilled and detail-oriented Subject Matter Typists to convert academic content, handwritten notes, PDFs, books, question papers, and study material into accurately formatted digital content.

The role is suitable for candidates with a strong understanding of Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, or Physics, along with excellent typing and formatting skills.

This is a fully remote, project-based chance, where candidates may be engaged on a per-page basis or project basis, depending on the requirement.

Key Responsibilities

- Type and digitize academic content provided by VedPrep.
- Convert handwritten notes, scanned documents, PDFs, and source material into editable digital formats.
- Accurately type:
- Questions and answers
- MCQs and numerical questions
- Formulas and equations
- Chemical equations and reactions
- Mathematical equations and symbols
- Physics formulas, diagrams and numerical problems
- Biology terminology, scientific names and classifications
- Tables, graphs and other academic content
- Maintain the original meaning, sequence, structure, and formatting of the source material.
- Ensure correct use of superscripts, subscripts, symbols, mathematical notation, scientific notation, chemical formulas, and units.
- Perform proofreading and self-checking before submitting the completed work.
- Correct typing, spelling, formatting,



and subject-related errors wherever required.
- Follow VedPrep's prescribed formatting and content guidelines.
- Complete assigned pages/projects within the agreed timelines.
- Coordinate with the academic/content team for clarification whenever required.
- Maintain confidentiality of VedPrep's academic content and intellectual property.

Required Skills

- Excellent typing accuracy.
- Good English comprehension and spelling.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Basic to good knowledge of the subject for which the candidate is applying.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Good understanding of page maker.
- Familiarity with equation typing, LaTeX, MathType, or similar tools will be an advantage.
- Ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Good proofreading and error-detection skills.

Eligibility

Candidates can apply if they have:

- Bachelor's/Master's degree in the relevant subject, OR
- Strong academic knowledge and proven experience in the relevant subject.
- Previous experience in academic content typing, textbook typing, question-bank preparation, e-learning content, or educational publishing will be preferred.

Engagement & Payment

This is not a fixed-salary/full time position.





Candidates may be engaged through:

1. Per-Page Basis

- Payment will be calculated according to the number of approved pages completed.
- Rates may vary depending on the complexity of the content.

2. Project Basis

- A fixed payment will be agreed upon for a defined project.
- Project scope, volume, quality standards, and delivery timeline will be mutually agreed upon before starting.

Payment will be released based on quality approval and successful completion of the assigned work.

Work Arrangement

- 100% Remote
- Flexible working hours
- Work can be performed from anywhere in India
- Assignments will be provided digitally
- No requirement to visit the VedPrep office
- Work allocation will depend on project requirements

Quality Standards

The selected typist will be expected to maintain:

- High typing accuracy
- Zero/minimal formatting errors
- Correct subject terminology
- Correct mathematical/scientific notation
- Consistent formatting
- Timely delivery

Repeated errors, plagiarism, unauthorized sharing, or misuse of VedPrep content may result in termination of the project/engagement.
