AME Instructor – Category B1 & B2 Position

2. Job Purpose

To deliver effective theoretical and practical instruction to AME students in Category B1 (Mechanical) and Category B2 (Avionics) subjects in accordance with the approved training programme, applicable DGCA requirements, CAR-66 and CAR-147 procedures, and the organisation's approved Training Procedures Manual (TPM).

3. Key Responsibilities

- Conduct theoretical and practical classes for B1 and/or B2 AME modules as authorised.
- Prepare and deliver lectures, presentations, practical demonstrations and training activities.
- Ensure training is conducted in accordance with the approved syllabus, lesson plans and course schedule.
- Explain aircraft systems, maintenance practices, components, tools, equipment and applicable maintenance procedures.
- Conduct practical training and demonstrations using appropriate aircraft, components, training aids, tools and equipment.
- Prepare and maintain lesson plans, teaching materials, presentations, handouts and practical training exercises.
- Conduct student assessments, quizzes, progress tests and module-related examinations as authorised.
- Evaluate student performance objectively and maintain appropriate assessment records.
- Ensure examination and assessment material is handled securely and confidentially.
- Maintain accurate attendance, training, practical and assessment records.
- Provide academic guidance and support to students to improve their technical knowledge and practical skills.
- Identify students requiring additional academic or practical support and communicate the same to the Training Manager.
- Participate in development and periodic review of training material and course content.
- Ensure that training material remains current with applicable regulatory requirements, aircraft technology and maintenance practices.
- Participate in internal audits, regulatory audits and inspections, when required.
- Comply with the organisation's Training Procedures Manual (TPM), Quality Procedures Manual (QPM) and other approved procedures.
- Report any training, facility, equipment or safety deficiencies to the concerned department.
- Promote safe working practices during practical training and laboratory activities.
- Maintain professional competence and keep technical knowledge up to date through appropriate continuation training and industry exposure.




- Perform other training-related duties assigned by the Training Manager / Head of Training.

4. B1 Instructor – Technical Areas

The instructor may be authorised to provide training in applicable Category B2 subjects, including, as assigned:

- Electronic Instrument Systems
- Materials and Hardware
- Maintenance Practices
- Basic Aerodynamics
- Human Factors
- Aviation Legislation
- Aircraft Aerodynamics, Structures and Systems
- Communication and Navigation Systems
- Instrumentation Systems
- Automatic Flight Systems
- Electrical Power Systems
- Relevant aircraft-specific avionics systems

6. Qualification & Experience

The AME Instructor shall possess qualifications, technical knowledge and experience appropriate to the subjects/modules for which instructor authorisation is sought.

Typical requirements include:

- Appropriate AME licence / technical qualification / engineering qualification, as applicable.
- Relevant Category B1 and/or B2 technical knowledge and practical experience.
- Suitable maintenance or aviation industry experience related to the subjects to be taught.
- Adequate knowledge of applicable DGCA CAR-66 and CAR-147 requirements.
- Good understanding of aircraft maintenance practices, safety requirements and human factors.
- Previous teaching/training experience in an AME training organisation will be an advantage.
- Demonstrated competence in the subjects for which instructor authorisation is granted.

7. Instructor Authorisation

The instructor shall provide training only in those subjects/modules for which the organisation has verified and documented the instructor's:

- Qualification;




- Technical knowledge;
- Relevant experience;
- Teaching competence, where applicable; and
- Continuing competence.

Instructor authorisation shall be issued, continued, amended, suspended or withdrawn in accordance with the approved organisational procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.

9. Safety & Regulatory Responsibilities

The instructor shall:

- Follow all applicable aviation safety requirements.
- Ensure safe conduct of practical training.
- Report unsafe conditions, equipment defects and training-related hazards.
- Ensure training and assessment activities are conducted in accordance with approved procedures.
- Support compliance with applicable DGCA CAR-66, CAR-147 and organisational requirements.
- Cooperate with Quality Assurance and regulatory audits/inspections.

10. Performance Indicators

Performance may be evaluated based on:

- Quality and effectiveness of training delivered.
- Student academic and practical performance.
- Compliance with approved training procedures.
- Accuracy and completeness of training records.
- Student feedback and classroom effectiveness.
- Participation in audits and corrective actions.
- Maintenance of instructor competence and continuing training.
- Compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

11. Authority & Accountability

The AME Instructor is accountable for the quality, accuracy and effectiveness of training delivered within the scope of his/her approved instructor authorisation and shall immediately report any matter that may affect training quality, student safety or regulatory compliance to the Training Manager / Head of Training.

Note: The exact qualification, experience and instructor-authorisation criteria shall be verified against the organisation's current DGCA-approved procedures and the applicable CAR-66/CAR-147 requirements before appointment or continuation of authorisation.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
