1. Patient Monitoring & Assessment

- Continuous Monitoring: Checking vital signs like heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels, and respiration rates every hour or continuously.
- ECG/EKG Interpretation: Reading cardiac monitors to detect any abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias).
- Neurological Checks: Assessing the patient’s consciousness and brain function using scales like the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS).
- Fluid Balance: Tracking strict intake and output (fluid levels, urine output, and IV fluids) to prevent organ failure.

2. Advanced Medical Care & Equipment Management

- Ventilator Management: Caring for patients on mechanical ventilators and managing breathing tubes.
- Medication Administration: Giving high-risk, life-saving intravenous (IV) medications and titrating infusions (adjusting doses based on patient response).
- Device Handling: Operating complex medical equipment such as dialysis machines, infusion pumps, feeding tubes, and arterial lines.
- Wound & Line Care: Managing central venous lines, arterial lines, chest tubes,



and surgical wounds to prevent infections.

3. Emergency Response & Critical Care

- Coding and Resuscitation: Leading or assisting in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) during a medical emergency (Code Blue).
- Rapid Response: Identifying early signs of patient deterioration (such as sepsis or shock) and taking immediate action to stabilize the patient.

4. Collaboration & Communication

- Doctor Collaboration: Working closely with Intensivists (ICU Doctors), Pulmonologists, and Surgeons to execute treatment plans.
- Family Support: Providing emotional support and updating the patient's family about the critical condition of their loved ones.
- Detailed Documentation: Recording every minor change in the patient's condition, medication history, and lab reports accurately in the medical charts.
