About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented UK Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate should have practical experience in UK accounting, bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, and preparation of financial statements, with a good understanding of UK accounting standards and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities for UK clients.
- Prepare and review VAT returns and ensure timely submission.
- Prepare year-end accounts and management accounts.
- Assist with preparation of Corporation Tax returns and related computations.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and perform regular reconciliations.
- Prepare bank, supplier, customer, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Process and review journals, accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.
- Assist with payroll-related accounting and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with applicable UK accounting and tax regulations.
- Communicate with clients to resolve accounting queries and obtain required information.




- Identify discrepancies and take appropriate corrective action.
- Meet client deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality of work.
- Work closely with senior accountants and managers on client assignments.

Requirements

- 1-2 years of relevant experience in UK Accounting.
- Strong knowledge of UK bookkeeping and accounting practices.
- Practical experience with VAT returns and UK tax compliance.
- Knowledge of UK year-end accounts and financial statements.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and reconciliations.
- Experience with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Valuable written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client assignments.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and maintain attention to detail.
