About the Role

The JSS EV Centre of Excellence is looking for an Automotive Design Engineer & Technical Trainer to lead design-focused training programs in automotive and electric vehicle product development. The candidate will train students, faculty, and industry professionals using industry-standard 3D Experience paltform, CAD, CAE, and PLM tools while mentoring design projects and supporting industry collaborations.

The role combines technical design expertise with academic delivery and hands-on laboratory guidance.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Training

Deliver classroom and laboratory sessions on:

- Automotive Product Development Process
- Electric Vehicle Design Fundamentals
- Vehicle Architecture
- Vehicle Packaging
- Chassis Systems
- Body-in-White (BIW)
- Plastic Trim Design
- Sheet Metal Design
- Surface Modelling
- Suspension Systems
- Steering Systems
- Braking Systems
- Interior & Exterior Components
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
- Design for Assembly (DFA)
- Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)

Software Training

Train students using:

- CATIA V5
- CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE
- DELMIA
- SOLIDWORKS (Preferred)
- Siemens NX (Preferred)
- AutoCAD
- GD&T;
- Drafting Standards

Curriculum Development

Develop training material for:

- Foundation Program
- Advanced Program
- Professional Certification
- Industry Upskilling Programs
- Faculty Development Programs
- Minor Degree Programs
- Corporate Training Modules

Student Mentoring

- Guide capstone projects
- Mentor SAE and Formula Student teams
- Support EV prototype development
- Conduct design reviews




- Evaluate assignments and assessments
- Support startup incubation projects

Laboratory Responsibilities

- Manage CAD laboratory
- Maintain software licenses
- Support workstation readiness
- Coordinate 3D printing activities
- Manage design repositories
- Prepare lab manuals

Industry Engagement

- Conduct corporate training
- Deliver workshops
- Coordinate guest lectures
- Support consultancy projects

EducationEssential

B.E./B.Tech, M.Tech/MS in:

ExperienceMinimum

2–5 years

This recruitment process ensures the selected candidate can perform both as a practicing automotive design engineer and as an effective technical trainer for the EV Centre of Excellence.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
