Don't Just Find Learners. Help Young People Find Possibilities.

What if one conversation on a street corner could change the direction of someone's career?

What if the young person who didn't know where to start discovered a skilling opportunity, built the confidence to pursue it, and eventually found a pathway to employment?

That's what this role is about.

Lighthouse Communities Foundation is looking for an Outreach Coordinator who can connect with communities, build trust, discover young people's aspirations, and bring the right opportunities to those who need them most.

You will be the face of Lighthouse in the community — meeting young people where they are, helping them understand what's possible, and motivating them to take their next step.

If you enjoy meeting people, building relationships, working outdoors, and creating opportunities that can change lives, we'd love to meet you.

About Lighthouse Communities Foundation

Lighthouse Communities Foundation (LCF) is a non-profit organisation working to create pathways to skilling, employability, and sustainable livelihoods for underserved youth.

Through our Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, we work with governments, corporates, NGOs, communities, and other partners to connect young people with skills, careers, and opportunities for economic independence.

Our work is guided by four values:

Empathy | Inclusion | Integrity | Courage

Your Role: Be the Bridge Between Youth & Opportunity

Many young people have the potential to build better careers but may not know:

Where to start.
What opportunities exist.
Which skills they need.
Who can help them.

As an Outreach Coordinator, you'll help bridge that gap.

You will work directly within communities to identify and engage young people aged 18–35, create awareness about Lighthouse programs, support enrolments, and stay connected with learners throughout their training journey.

This is a field-first role. Your workplace will often be the community — its streets, colleges, neighbourhoods, community spaces, events, and local networks.

What You Will Do

Take Lighthouse Into the Community

- Conduct door-to-door outreach, awareness campaigns, enrolment drives, and community meetings.
- Identify eligible youth who can benefit from Lighthouse skilling and employability programs.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of potential learners.
- Create awareness about career, skilling, and employment opportunities.
- Meet young people where they are and understand their aspirations, concerns, and barriers.

You will build connections with:

- Colleges and educational institutions.
- Community leaders and local influencers.
- NGOs and community-based organisations.
- Government stakeholders.

You will represent Lighthouse at local events, awareness campaigns, community meetings, and other outreach activities.

Create Conversations That Move People

- Organise orientation sessions and career awareness workshops.
- Conduct community events and youth engagement activities.
- Explain Lighthouse programs clearly and encourage eligible youth to participate.
- Address questions and concerns that may prevent young people from enrolling.
- Motivate learners to take ownership of their skilling and career journey.

Stay With the Learner Beyond Enrolment

Our relationship with a young person doesn't end when they enrol.

You will:

- Support learner attendance and retention.
- Stay connected with learners throughout their training journey.
- Identify challenges that may affect participation.
- Motivate learners to complete their programs.
- Work with centre teams to address learner engagement challenges.

Turn Field Insights Into Action

- Maintain accurate outreach and enrolment records.
- Track community engagement and learner information through MIS.
- Use MS Excel, Google Sheets, and Microsoft Office for basic reporting and documentation.
- Coordinate with trainers, centre teams, and program staff for smooth program implementation.
- Share insights from the field that can help improve outreach and learner engagement.

Help Connect Skills to Careers

Your role doesn't stop at enrolment.

You will also:

- Guide learners throughout their skilling journey.
- Support career-readiness activities.
- Contribute to placement initiatives.
- Help learners understand and pursue pathways towards employment.

Who Are We Looking For?Education

- Graduate in any discipline.
- MSW / Social Sciences background preferred.

Experience

- 1–3 years of experience in community mobilisation, outreach, NGO programs, education, skilling, youth engagement, or a related field.

Fresh candidates with strong community engagement experience and a genuine passion for youth development may also be considered.

Skills That Matter

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build rapport quickly with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Comfortable conducting conversations, orientations, and community activities.
- Basic proficiency in MS Excel, Google Sheets, and Microsoft Office.

- Listens without judging.
- Understands that trust comes before enrolment.
- Is energetic, persistent, and comfortable working in the field.
- Doesn't get discouraged by a “no” and knows how to keep building relationships.
- Can turn a community conversation into an opportunity.
- Believes that talent exists everywhere — opportunity doesn't.
- Wants their everyday work to create a bigger social impact.

Why Join Lighthouse?

Your Work Can Be Someone's First Step

Every enrolment represents more than a number.

It could be:

A young person discovering a new career.
A first skilling opportunity.
A family seeing a different future.
A learner gaining confidence.
A first step towards employment and financial independence.

At Lighthouse, you'll work directly at the point where community meets opportunity.

You'll gain hands-on experience in youth development, community mobilisation, employability, skilling, stakeholder engagement, and the social impact sector — while working with a team committed to creating sustainable livelihoods.
