As a Community Engagement Executive at Lighthouse Communities Foundation, you will help make those moments happen.

You'll work directly with young people from underserved communities, build relationships with families and local stakeholders, and connect eligible youth with opportunities in education, skilling, employability, and livelihoods.

Your Role: Be the Bridge Between Community & Chance

Many young people have the ambition to build a better future but may not know where to begin.

Your role will be to help bridge that gap.

You'll work across communities to:

Discover → Connect → Build Trust → Enrol → Engage → Support

You won't just be responsible for bringing young people into a program.

You'll help ensure they stay connected and engaged throughout their journey.

What You Will Do

Take Lighthouse Into the Community

- Mobilise young people from underserved and low-income communities.
- Conduct community outreach and identify potential learners.
- Build trust-based relationships with youth, families, and community members.
- Explain Lighthouse programs, eligibility criteria, and benefits clearly.
- Encourage eligible youth to explore and enrol in relevant programs.

Build Trust With Families

For many young people, career decisions involve the entire family.

You will:

- Communicate with parents and guardians about program opportunities.
- Address questions and concerns around participation.
- Conduct home visits with students and families when required.
- Build relationships that encourage families to support young people's learning and career journeys.

Turn Enrolment Into Engagement





Getting someone enrolled is only the first step.

You will:

- Build one-on-one relationships with learners.
- Encourage regular attendance and participation.
- Identify learners who may be losing engagement.
- Understand their challenges and help connect them with appropriate support.
- Stay connected with youth during and, where relevant, after the program.

Understand the Community Through Data

Effective outreach starts with knowing the community.

You will:

- Map households and communities to support outreach planning.
- Use Google Maps and GIS-based tools where required.
- Maintain accurate outreach and community information.
- Use field insights to identify areas and groups that may benefit from Lighthouse programs.

Knowledge of GIS mapping tools is an advantage, but the ability to learn and use digital tools effectively is more important.

Build the Local Ecosystem

You will also develop relationships with people and organisations that can strengthen community participation, including:

- Government officials.
- Community leaders.
- NGOs and community organisations.
- Local institutions and other stakeholders.
- Families and community networks.

You may represent Lighthouse during Centre visits, community meetings, outreach activities, and local events.

Help Create a Centre Young People Feel Welcome In

- Support Centre activities and learner engagement initiatives.
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, welcoming, and youth-friendly environment.
- Work closely with Centre teams and other colleagues.
- Contribute to a culture where young people feel respected, heard, and encouraged.

Who Are We Looking For?

Education

- Graduate or postgraduate degree.
- Social Work, Sociology, Community Development, or a related discipline preferred.

Experience

- Minimum 1 year of experience in community mobilisation, outreach, youth engagement, social development, or a related field.
- Experience working with underserved, marginalised, or vulnerable communities is highly preferred.

Skills That Matter

- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication and listening abilities.
- Ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.




- Solid empathy and a genuine interest in youth development.
- Comfortable working independently in the field.
- Ability to handle challenging situations with maturity and sound judgement.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office.
- Knowledge of Google Maps or GIS tools is an added advantage.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English, Hindi, and the local language.
- Willingness to travel locally for outreach and community engagement.
