Job Title: Shop Floor Production Training & Development Officer
Department: Production / Learning & Development / HR
Reports To: Production Manager / Training & Development Manager

Job Purpose

To plan, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate training programs for shop-floor employees to improve their technical skills, productivity, product quality, safety awareness, and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Key Responsibilities

- Identify training and skill-development requirements for production operators, technicians, and supervisors.
- Develop and maintain training modules, SOP-based training materials, work instructions, and skill matrices.
- Conduct induction and on-the-job training for new and existing employees.
- Train employees on:
- Production processes and machine operations
- SOPs and work instructions
- Quality standards and inspection procedures
- Workplace safety and PPE requirements
- 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement
- Productivity and waste reduction
- Basic troubleshooting and equipment handling
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Safety, and HR departments to identify skill gaps.
- Conduct practical demonstrations and competency assessments on the shop floor.
- Maintain employee training records, attendance, skill matrices, and competency evaluation reports.
- Monitor training effectiveness through performance, quality, productivity, and safety indicators.
- Develop refresher training programs based on production issues, quality problems, accidents, customer complaints, or process changes.
- Support cross-training and multi-skilling programs to improve workforce flexibility.
- Assist supervisors in identifying employees requiring additional coaching or development.




- Conduct Train-the-Trainer (TTT) programs for supervisors and experienced operators.
- Ensure training content is updated whenever processes, machines, products, or SOPs change.
- Participate in audits related to training, competency, quality, and safety.
- Prepare monthly training reports and present training KPIs to management.
- Promote a continuous learning and improvement culture on the shop floor.

Required Qualifications

- Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, HR, or a related field.
- Experience in manufacturing/shop-floor training is preferred.
- Knowledge of production processes, quality systems, and workplace safety.
- Valuable communication, presentation, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work closely with operators and production supervisors.
- Basic knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and problem-solving techniques.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
