Job Description: Lecturer – Mechanical Engineering

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Purpose

To deliver quality technical education in Mechanical Engineering, develop students' theoretical and practical competencies, and contribute to the academic, research, and workshop/lab development of the department.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Instruction

- Deliver lectures, tutorials, and lab/workshop sessions on subjects such as Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Machine Design, Manufacturing Processes, Theory of Machines, Heat Transfer, Automobile Engineering, CAD/CAM, and Industrial Engineering
- Prepare lesson plans, course outlines, and instructional materials aligned with curriculum requirements
- Conduct practical/lab and workshop classes (Fitting, Welding, Machine Shop, CNC, Thermal/Fluid labs, etc.)
- Use design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, ANSYS) and e-learning platforms to enhance teaching

Assessment & Evaluation

- Design and conduct internal assessments, assignments, drawing sheets, and examinations
- Evaluate practical work, lab records, design projects, and workshop assignments fairly and promptly
- Maintain accurate academic records and student performance data
- Provide constructive feedback to help students improve

Student Mentorship

- Guide students on academic matters, career paths, and skill enhancement
- Supervise minor/major projects, industrial training, and internships
- Encourage participation in technical fests, design competitions, and robotics/automation events
- Act as mentor/counselor for assigned student groups

Curriculum & Academic Development

- Contribute to curriculum design, review, and updates based on industry trends (automation,



robotics, EVs, Industry 4.0)
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and incorporate them into teaching
- Participate in Board of Studies meetings and academic committees
- Develop question banks, e-content, and study/design materials

Administrative & Institutional Duties

- Maintain workshop/lab discipline, safety standards, and equipment/inventory records
- Attend faculty meetings, workshops, and training programs
- Support departmental activities, accreditation processes (NBA/NAAC), and audits
- Perform invigilation and examination-related duties
- Coordinate industrial visits, guest lectures, and technical training programs

Research & Professional Development (if applicable)

- Publish research papers in journals/conferences
- Guide student research and design projects
- Pursue continuous career development (certifications, FDPs, workshops on new manufacturing technologies)

Required Qualifications

- Master's degree (M.Tech/M.E.) in Mechanical Engineering
- Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering

Experience

- Fresh graduates to 2+ years for Junior Lecturer
- 2–5+ years of teaching/industry experience for Senior Lecturer roles

Skills & Competencies

- Strong subject knowledge in design, manufacturing, and thermal/fluid systems
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, ANSYS)
- Hands-on experience with workshop machinery and industrial processes
- Excellent communication, presentation, and classroom management skills
- Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and adaptability
- Good interpersonal skills for student mentoring

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
