Client Support
• Research & Support seniors in responding to client queries on issues such as capital gains computation, trades reconciliation, tax payments, return of income, and income tax compliance matters.
• Assist in preparing income tax returns for clients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to statutory requirements.
• Undertake tax research on relevant income-tax provisions impacting client taxation, including recent case laws, notifications, and circulars.
• Review assignment-related data for discrepancies or additional requirements, and escalate them promptly to the team.
• Prepare submissions for assessment and appellate proceedings, and support seniors in appearing before income-tax authorities.
• Handle administrative tasks for allocated clients, including engagement letters, filing of client documents, billing follow-ups, and tax compliance documentation.
Client Delivery
• Research and scrutinize all aspects of assignments in collaboration with the team to develop robust base reports.
• Support in drafting memos, opinions, and client-ready reports.
• Coordinate with team members to obtain necessary documents and maintain organized records to ensure smooth closure of assignments.
• Provide support during hearings and appeal submissions.
• Collate internal documents, forms, and returns to ensure data integrity and tax compliance.
• Periodically coordinate with the team for updated information and documentation.
• Demonstrate professionalism by adhering to legal and regulatory frameworks while maintaining independence and objectivity.
Research & Technical Inputs
• Conduct comprehensive tax research aligned with client expectations, utilizing external market data, internal portals, and tax databases.
• Contribute technical insights to support tax analyst functions and enhance deliverable quality.
People Skills & Teamwork
• Collaborate constructively with team members to evaluate performance and drive continuous improvement.
Internal Processes
• Assist in drafting engagement letters and client communications, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain data controls for research papers and internal knowledge repositories.
Requirements:
• 0 to 3 years of experience in direct tax and international tax practice, preferably from Big 4 firms or CA firms.
• Strong foundation in income tax laws and a passion for tax compliance and tax research.
• Willingness to undergo regular technical trainings and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance delivery effectiveness.
• Proficiency in MS Office tools.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively at all levels — internally and with clients.
• Energetic, innovative, and entrepreneurial mindset with robust business acumen.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently with strong planning and organizational skills.
• Adaptability to shifting priorities and evolving tax regulations.
• Graduation required; MBA or CA qualification not preferred for this role.
• Strong command of English and good communication skills.
