Job DescriptionDrive sales, distribution, and visibility of company products across Modern Trade channels (supermarkets, hypermarkets, department stores, retail chains such as Reliance Retail, Big Bazaar, More, Spencer's, D-Mart, etc.), while managing key account relationships and ensuring profitable growth.
NKey Responsibilities
nManage and grow relationships with Modern Trade key accounts (regional & national chains)
NAchieve monthly/quarterlysales targets (volume & value) for the MT channel
NNegotiate trading terms, listing fees, promotional plans, and margins with retailers
NPlan and execute in-storepromotions, visibility drives, and merchandising activities
NMonitor stock availability, fill rates, and minimize out-of-stock situations
NTrack competitor activity, pricing, and shelf presence within MT outlets
NCoordinate with supply chain/logistics for timely order fulfillment
NManage trade spends and promotional budgets within P&L; guidelines
NPrepare sales reports, forecasts, and account performance reviews




NBuild joint business plans (JBPs) with key retail partners
NEnsure compliance with retailer-specific processes (PO management, invoicing, claims settlement)
NLead/mentor a team of MT executives/merchandisers, if applicable
NKey Skills & Competencies
NStrong negotiation and key account management skills
NUnderstanding of retail/category management and trade marketing
NAnalytical skills — salesdata, market share, ROI on trade spends
NRelationship management with senior retail buyers/category managers
NProficiency in MS Excel/PowerPoint;
exposure to SFA/DMS tools is a plus
NGood communication and cross-functional coordination ability
NQualifications & Experience
NGraduate
n3–8 years of experience in Contemporary Trade/Key Account Sales within FMCG, consumer durables, or retail
NPrior experience handlingnational/regional retail chains preferred
