PRINCIPAL - SRI LAKSHMI PUBLIC SCHOOL
The Principal will be responsible for creating a positive learning environment, maintaining high academic standards, developing faculty capabilities, ensuring effective school operations, and fostering strong relationships with students, parents, teachers, and the wider community.
- Key Responsibilities
1. Academic Leadership
- Provide strong academic and instructional leadership across the school.
- Develop and implement academic plans aligned with the school's vision and educational objectives.
- Monitor teaching quality, lesson planning, student learning outcomes, and academic performance.
- Establish systems for regular assessment and improvement of student achievement.
- Encourage innovative, activity-based, and technology-enabled teaching practices.
- Ensure effective implementation of the prescribed curriculum and academic calendar.
2. Faculty Management & Development
- Participate in recruitment, induction, performance evaluation, and development of teachers.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate teaching and non-teaching staff.
- Organize and encourage professional development and training programs.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and a positive work culture.
- Address performance-related issues appropriately and constructively.
- 3. School Administration
- Oversee the day-to-day functioning and administration of the school.
- Ensure smooth coordination among academic, administrative, transport, security, and support teams.
- Maintain appropriate school records, policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Ensure effective utilization and maintenance of school infrastructure and resources.
- Coordinate examinations, admissions, events, meetings, and other school activities.
- 4. Student Development & Discipline
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, respectful, and child-friendly school environment.
- Establish and maintain appropriate standards of student discipline and behaviour.
- Support students' academic, emotional, social, cultural, and extracurricular development.
- Encourage participation in sports, cultural activities,
competitions, clubs, and leadership programs.
- Address student concerns and disciplinary matters fairly and sensitively.
- 5. Parent & Community Engagement
- Build strong and professional relationships with parents and guardians.
- Address parent concerns and grievances effectively.
- Conduct parent-teacher meetings and other stakeholder interactions.
- Represent the school professionally in the community and at external forums.
- Promote a strong partnership between parents, teachers, and school leadership.
- 6. Compliance & School Standards
- Ensure compliance with applicable education-board regulations, government requirements, and school policies.
- Maintain appropriate standards relating to student safety, child protection, health, hygiene, and safeguarding.
- Ensure timely completion and submission of required reports and documentation.
- Maintain readiness for inspections, audits, and accreditation-related requirements.
- 7. Strategic Leadership
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the school's long-term vision and growth strategy.
- Identify opportunities to improve academic quality, student experience, infrastructure, and school processes.
- Use data and feedback to make informed decisions.
- Develop measurable goals and monitor progress against institutional objectives.
- Promote the school's reputation, values, and educational philosophy.

- QualificationsMaster's degree in Education or a relevant academic discipline.
- B.Ed. or equivalent qualified teaching qualification preferred/required as applicable.
- Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in school education, with significant experience in a leadership or senior administrative position.
- Prior experience as Vice Principal, Academic Coordinator, Headmistress/Headmaster, or Principal will be preferred.
- Experience with the relevant school board/curriculum will be an advantage.
