SENIOR .WELD SHOP ENGINEER

Key Responsibilities

Plan and monitor daily welding shop production as per production schedules.

Ensure achievement of production targets with optimum manpower and machine utilization.

Monitor welding processes such as MIG/ TIG, Spot Welding,

Ensure proper setting and operation of welding machines, fixtures, jigs, and tools.

Identify and resolve welding defects such as porosity, undercut, cracks, lack of fusion, and distortion.

Maintain process parameters including welding current, voltage, wire speed, gas flow, and cycle time.

Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, PPC, Stores, and Production teams for smooth operations.

Ensure proper implementation of SOPs, Work Instructions, Control Plans, and Process Sheets.

Monitor rejection, rework, downtime, and productivity and take corrective actions.

Support process improvement activities such as Kaizen, 5S, Poka-Yoke, and line balancing.

Conduct root-cause analysis for production and quality problems and implement corrective actions.

Ensure availability and proper condition of welding consumables, fixtures, tools, and equipment.

Maintain production and process-related records and reports.

Ensure compliance with company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and housekeeping standards.





Train and guide welders/operators on proper welding procedures and safety practices.

Support new product development, trial runs, process validation, and production ramp-up.

Required Skills

Good knowledge of welding processes and shop-floor operations.

Knowledge of welding defects and their prevention.

Understanding of welding fixtures, jigs, gauges, and tooling.

Knowledge of production planning and shop-floor management.

Good problem-solving and analytical skills.

Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and Poka-Yoke.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Ability to work under production targets and pressure.

Preferred Experience

Experience in automobile, auto components, fabrication, sheet metal, or engineering manufacturing industries will be preferred.

Salary: As per company standards and candidate experience.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
