Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Store Manager to oversee the overall operations of our hypermarket. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing store operations, leading the team, achieving sales targets, maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining company standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hypermarket and ensure smooth functioning of all departments.
- Lead, supervise and motivate store staff to achieve operational and sales targets.
- Plan staff deployment, duty schedules and ensure proper manpower utilization.
- Monitor daily, weekly and monthly sales performance and take necessary actions to achieve targets.
- Monitor department-wise performance, productivity and operational KPIs.
- Ensure proper stock availability, replenishment and inventory control.
- Monitor inward, outward, stock transfers, stock adjustments and stock discrepancies.
- Ensure proper FIFO/FEFO practices and monitor expiry, damages and non-saleable items.
- Monitor shrinkage and take appropriate measures to minimize stock loss.
- Ensure proper functioning of billing/cash counters and coordinate with the concerned teams.
- Handle customer complaints, escalations and ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Ensure proper merchandising, product display, pricing and promotional activities.
- Maintain store cleanliness, hygiene, safety and overall presentation standards.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with HR, Purchase, Accounts, Warehouse and other departments for smooth store operations.




- Conduct regular staff meetings and provide feedback, guidance and training to employees.
- Monitor staff discipline, grooming, attendance and overall performance.
- Prepare and review daily operational and sales reports and submit necessary reports to management.
- Identify operational issues and implement corrective actions in coordination with management.
- Ensure effective opening and closing procedures and overall store readiness.
- Support management in implementing new initiatives, promotions and business strategies.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Commerce or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in retail/hypermarket/supermarket operations, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of store operations, inventory management, sales and customer service.
- Experience in handling large teams and multiple departments.
- Good knowledge of POS, billing systems and basic MS Office/Excel.
- Solid leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Good analytical ability with knowledge of retail KPIs and sales reports.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle operational challenges.
- Willingness to work in shifts, weekends and holidays as required.
- Candidates with prior hypermarket/supermarket experience will be preferred.
