Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Purchase Manager to lead the procurement function and ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality-driven procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, consumables, engineering items, and other business requirements.
The candidate must have strong hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA, with SAP MM (Materials Management) being mandatory. The role requires a combination of procurement expertise, vendor management, commercial negotiation, inventory coordination, and robust SAP process knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete procurement cycle from purchase requisition to purchase order, goods receipt, invoice verification, and payment coordination.
- Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to achieve cost savings, quality improvement, and timely availability of materials.
- Identify, evaluate, develop, and manage suppliers and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Negotiate price, payment terms, delivery schedules, quality, and commercial conditions with suppliers.
- Obtain and analyze quotations and conduct comparative evaluations before finalizing suppliers.
- Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, consumables, engineering/spares, and other operational requirements.
- Monitor purchase orders and follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate closely with Stores, Production, Quality, Finance, Planning, and other departments for material requirements.
- Monitor vendor performance, delivery commitments, quality issues, and commercial discrepancies.
- Develop alternate sources for critical materials and minimize supply-chain risks.
- Maintain appropriate procurement records, contracts, pricing information, and vendor documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, approval processes, and commercial controls.
- Analyze purchase data and identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and procurement efficiency.
- Support annual procurement planning, budgeting, and spend analysis.
- Handle vendor-related issues including shortages, quality rejection, delayed deliveries, price discrepancies, and payment-related coordination.
SAP S/4HANA – Mandatory Requirement
- Strong hands-on proficiency in SAP S/4HANA is mandatory.
- SAP MM (Materials Management) module experience is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of Purchase Requisition (PR), Request for Quotation (RFQ), Quotation Comparison, Purchase Order (PO), Goods Receipt (GR), Invoice Verification, and related procurement processes.
- Experience with material master, vendor/business partner master, purchasing info records, source determination, pricing conditions, release/approval procedures, and purchase reporting.
- Ability to independently execute and monitor procurement transactions in SAP.
- Should be comfortable working with SAP reports and analyzing procurement and inventory data.
- Experience in coordinating with SAP IT/Basis/Functional teams for process improvements, issue resolution, and system enhancements will be an advantage.

Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Materials Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain, Procurement, Materials Management, or related specialization will be an advantage.
Experience
- 8–12 years of relevant experience in Purchase / Procurement / Materials Management, preferably in a manufacturing, FMCG, food, or similar industry.
- Candidates should have significant hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA MM.
Preferred Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should be a hands-on Purchase Manager who can independently manage procurement operations, negotiate effectively with vendors, control purchase costs, and use SAP S/4HANA MM extensively for day-to-day procurement activities and reporting. Candidates without hands-on SAP S/4HANA MM experience will not be considered.
