About the Role

nWe are looking for a Tech Lead to drive the design, development, and scalability of our core backend systems. You will lead a team of backend engineers working primarily in Java-based microservices while closely collaborating with frontend teams (React JS / React Native), Product, and DevOps.

nThis is a hands-on leadership role where you will be responsible for architecture decisions, code quality, delivery excellence, and mentoring engineers while building highly scalable, reliable, and performant systems.

nKey Responsibilities

nTechnical Leadership

- Own backend architecture and design for scalable, distributed systems.

- Lead the development of microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.
n
- Drive best practices in system design, coding standards, testing, and code reviews.
n
- Make critical decisions on data modeling, API contracts, and service boundaries.
n
- Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of backend systems.

nHands-on Development

- Actively contribute to code, especially for complex modules and critical systems.
n
- Debug production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes.
n
- Optimize system performance, database queries, and service interactions.
n

nTeam Leadership & Mentorship

- Mentor and guide backend engineers in technical and career growth.
n
- Conduct design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions.
n
- Build a strong engineering culture focused on quality and ownership.
n

nDelivery & Execution

n

- Collaborate with Product Managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
n
- Drive sprint planning, estimation, and timely delivery of features.
n
- Ensure high engineering velocity without compromising on quality.
n

nPlatform & DevOps Collaboration

- Work closely with DevOps to build robust CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies.
n
- Ensure observability through logging, monitoring, and alerting.
n




- Drive initiatives around system reliability, uptime, and resilience.
n

nCross-functional Collaboration

n

n
- Partner with frontend teams (React JS / React Native) to ensure seamless API integration.
n
- Collaborate with QA for test strategies and automation.
n
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders on technical decisions and trade-offs.
n

nRequired Skills & Qualifications

n

n
- 4-6 years of backend engineering experience with strong expertise in Java.
n
- Proven experience in building and scaling microservices architectures.
n
- Strong hands-on experience with:
n
- Java, Spring Boot
n
- REST API design
n
- SQL/NoSQL databases
n
- Distributed systems and system design
n
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
n
- Robust understanding of performance optimization, caching, and asynchronous processing.
n
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
n
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

- Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).

- Exposure to high-scale consumer or SaaS products.

- Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., logs, metrics, tracing systems).

- Prior experience in a Tech Lead or Senior Engineer mentoring role.
