Job Summary

We are looking for a Technical Assistant – Vessel Maintenance to support the Technical and Maintenance team in managing vessel-wise technical records, monitoring maintenance activities, coordinating repair and drydocking requirements, and ensuring timely completion of technical and survey-related works.

The ideal candidate should have 1–2 years of relevant experience in the shipbuilding, ship repair, vessel maintenance, or marine engineering industry, along with a B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. The candidate should have a good understanding of technical maintenance activities, strong documentation and coordination skills, and good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly MS Excel.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain and update vessel-wise technical and maintenance records, including preventive maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance (CM), breakdowns, and service reports.
- Monitor maintenance trackers, pending jobs, work completion status, and timely closure of technical works.
- Follow up on IRS/Class survey observations and comments and coordinate with relevant teams for timely closure.
- Assist in preparing and finalizing drydocking scope of work in coordination with technicians, engineers, and vessel crew.
- Identify required materials, spares, and equipment for drydocking and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with the Procurement team and follow up to ensure timely availability of required materials and spares.
- Coordinate with technicians, engineers, vessel crew, contractors, and vendors to collect technical information and required documentation.
- Collect, organize, and maintain service reports, inspection reports, test reports, photographs, certificates, and other technical documents.
- Prepare vessel-wise spare parts lists and documentation required for handover and maintenance activities.
- Prepare material requirement lists, technical reports, maintenance summaries, and MIS reports.
- Maintain equipment records, certificates,



inspection documents, and maintenance history.
- Support the Technical and Maintenance team in day-to-day coordination and follow-up of vessel repair and maintenance activities.
- Ensure proper filing and easy retrieval of vessel-wise technical documents and records.

Required Qualification
- B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in any of the following:
- Shipbuilding
- Ship repair
- Vessel maintenance
- Marine engineering
- Marine/shipyard operations
- Candidates with experience in technical documentation and maintenance coordination within the marine industry will be preferred.

Required Skills
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, especially MS Excel.
- Basic to good understanding of mechanical/electrical maintenance activities.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, equipment manuals, datasheets, and specifications.
- Good technical documentation and reporting skills.
- Strong follow-up and coordination skills.
- Positive attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with technicians, engineers, vessel crew, vendors, and internal departments.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to work in a shipyard/vessel maintenance environment.

Candidate Profile
- Qualification: B.Tech/B.E. – Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: 1–2 years of relevant experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, vessel maintenance, or marine engineering.
- Should have a genuine interest in marine technical and maintenance activities.
- Should be organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple follow-ups.
- Should be willing to take responsibility for technical documentation, coordination, and maintenance-related activities.
- Freshers are not preferred for this position.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
