Role Overview

Soltrac Power is looking for an experienced Technical Head to lead the technical function across solar projects, including design, BOQ preparation, estimation, tendering, project execution, quality control and commissioning. The candidate should have solid practical knowledge of solar plant design, technical documentation and government tender processes, along with the ability to guide the technical and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Solar Design & Engineering

- Prepare and review solar plant designs for residential, commercial and industrial projects.
- Review SLD, layout drawings, module layouts, electrical drawings and structural designs.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable technical standards and project requirements.
- Review site survey reports and provide technical inputs for project feasibility.
- Coordinate with design and project teams for design modifications and approvals.

2. BOQ & Estimation

- Prepare and verify detailed BOQs (Bill of Quantities) for solar projects.
- Determine appropriate quantities and specifications of modules, inverters, structures, cables, earthing, protection systems and other balance-of-system components.
- Review project costing and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with Procurement and Projects teams to ensure material requirements are accurate.
- Evaluate vendor quotations from a technical and commercial perspective.

3. Government Tendering

- Handle the technical aspects of government and private tenders.
- Study tender documents,



technical specifications, eligibility criteria and scope of work.
- Prepare technical bids, compliance sheets, BOQs and required technical documentation.
- Coordinate with the Tendering/Liaison team for timely tender submission.
- Ensure compliance with tender specifications, MNRE/UPNEDA/DISCOM requirements and other applicable standards.
- Review technical clarifications, corrigenda and amendments issued during the tender process.

4. Project Execution & Technical Supervision

- Provide technical guidance for ongoing solar projects.
- Supervise and guide Site Engineers, Supervisors and Technicians.
- Ensure installation is carried out as per approved designs and specifications.
- Monitor quality of modules, structures, inverters, cabling, earthing and other electrical works.
- Support testing, commissioning and final project handover.
- Resolve technical issues arising at project sites.

5. Team & Project Coordination

- Lead the overall technical team and allocate technical responsibilities.
- Coordinate with Sales, Estimation, Procurement, Warehouse, Projects and Liaison teams.
- Conduct technical reviews of new and ongoing projects.
- Develop and maintain technical SOPs, checklists and quality standards.
- Train and mentor technical and site personnel.

Documentation & Compliance

- Review technical drawings, BOQs, test reports, commissioning reports and project documentation.
- Ensure proper technical records are maintained for every project.
- Ensure projects comply with applicable safety, quality and electrical standards.
- Support inspections, audits and client technical discussions.

Required Skills & Experience

- Strong practical knowledge of solar PV system design and project execution.
- Excellent knowledge of BOQ preparation, estimation and technical costing.
- Good understanding of government tendering and technical bid preparation.
- Knowledge of SLD, solar layouts, electrical systems and basic structural requirements.
- Knowledge of solar modules, inverters, mounting structures, DC/AC cabling, earthing and protection systems.
- Strong knowledge of project execution, testing and commissioning.
- Ability to lead and manage technical/site teams.
- Strong analytical, documentation and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel and relevant solar design tools preferred.

Qualification

B.Tech / B.E. / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Civil, Mechanical or Renewable Energy Engineering with relevant solar industry experience.

Preferred: Candidates with experience in government solar tenders, UPNEDA/MNRE-related projects, DISCOM requirements and commercial/industrial solar projects will be given preference.

Office Timing: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM

Weekly Off: Sunday

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
