Job Title: Placement Officer – Somaiya School of Design /n Location: Mumbai (Somaiya Vidyavihar University campus) /n Employment Type: Contract, 2 years /n Experience: 4–5 years /n /n About the Role /n Somaiya School of Design, a constituent school of Somaiya Vidyavihar University, is hiring a Placement Officer to build and lead campus placement operations for our design graduates. This is a newly created, high-impact role for someone who can translate robust industry relationships into real placement outcomes for students entering the design profession. /n /n What You'll Do /n ● Develop and grow relationships with recruiters and industry bodies in the design/creative sector /n ● Organize campus placement drives, internships, observerships, apprenticeships, and industry projects /n ● Provide one-on-one career counseling and placement support to students /n ● Design and deliver employability enhancement training (resume building, interview prep, aptitude training) /n ● Coordinate between students, faculty, and recruiters for smooth placement cycles /n ● Maintain accurate records of placements, company interactions,



and training programs /n ● Track alumni for referrals and long-term industry networking /n ● Prepare placement MIS and reports for leadership review /n ● Promote the institution's brand via digital channels, brochures, and corporate visits /n ● Organize pre-placement talks and employer branding sessions /n /n What We're Looking For /n ● Bachelor's degree required; Master's in HR or Marketing preferred /n ● 4–5 years of experience in campus recruitment, corporate HR, career services, training & development, corporate relations, or career counseling /n ● Prior experience in an academic institution or training agency is a strong plus /n ● Certifications in career counseling, campus recruitment, soft-skills training, or HR/recruitment are a bonus (not mandatory) /n /n Skills /n Strong communication and interpersonal skills · Industry networking and relationship-building · Knowledge of campus recruitment processes · Event planning and coordination · Career counseling and mentoring · MS Office/Excel/PowerPoint (CRM or ERP knowledge a plus) · Analytical and reporting ability · Social media/branding awareness /n /n Reports to: Director, Somaiya School of Design /n Compensation: Commensurate to Experience & Relevance
