We are looking for a Backend Development Intern to join our engineering team and work on real-world backend systems and event technology solutions for TWA (Telecom World Asia).

Duration: 3 Months

About the RoleAs a Backend Development Intern, you will work closely with our Backend Development and Networking teams to build, maintain, and extend backend systems used for event-related applications and platforms.

The role involves working with APIs, databases, authentication, integrations, and existing Ninternet backend systems.

Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain REST APIs and backend services.
- Work with PostgreSQL databases and SQL.
- Design and manage database schemas.
- Build and integrate internal and third-party APIs.
- Work on authentication, authorization, and user management.
- Extend and customize existing Ninternet backend functionality.
- Develop backend components for TWA event applications and portals.
- Debug and troubleshoot API, database, and integration issues.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-structured backend code.
- Work with the team on testing and improving backend services.
- Collaborate closely with the Backend Development and Networking teams.
- Understand requirements, take ownership of assigned tasks, and contribute to real-world projects.

Requirements
- Basic understanding of backend development concepts.




- Understanding of REST APIs and HTTP.
- Good understanding of SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL.
- Experience with at least one backend programming language such as Python, Node.js, Java, or Go.
- Basic understanding of authentication and authorization.
- Familiarity with Git/GitHub.
- Good problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong willingness to learn and work with existing backend systems.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.

Valuable to Have
- Hands-on experience building REST APIs.
- Experience with FastAPI, Express.js, Spring Boot, or similar frameworks.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL database design.
- Knowledge of JWT or authentication systems.
- Basic Docker knowledge.
- Basic Linux knowledge.
- Understanding of networking concepts.
- Experience working with third-party APIs or integrations.
- Basic cloud knowledge.
