We are looking for a skilled and patient-focused Ultrasound Technician to perform ultrasound examinations and assist Radiologists in obtaining high-quality diagnostic images for accurate interpretation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound examinations as per the physician's/Radiologist's instructions.
- Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures and explain the examination process.
- Position patients appropriately and ensure their comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
- Operate ultrasound equipment and select appropriate imaging protocols.
- Obtain transparent and high-quality ultrasound images for Radiologist review.
- Perform routine ultrasound studies including Abdominal, Pelvic, Obstetric, Small Parts, Thyroid, Breast, and other examinations based on competency.
- Assist Radiologists during specialized ultrasound procedures when required.
- Ensure proper patient identification and maintain accurate examination records.
- Identify technical issues or image-quality concerns and report them to the concerned team.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and infection-control standards in the ultrasound room.
- Handle ultrasound equipment carefully and coordinate for routine maintenance when required.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow organizational policies and diagnostic quality standards.
- Coordinate effectively with Radiologists, reception, nurses, and other diagnostic staff.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. / Diploma in Medical Imaging Technology, Radiology Technology, Ultrasound Technology, or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant certification/training in ultrasound or medical imaging will be an added advantage.
- Candidates must meet applicable state/national regulatory requirements for performing ultrasound examinations.
Experience
- 1–5 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Experience in a diagnostic centre or hospital is preferred.
- Freshers with relevant training may be considered based on organizational requirements.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of ultrasound procedures and imaging techniques.
- Ability to operate ultrasound equipment efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and image-quality awareness.
- Good patient-handling and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with Radiologists and clinical teams.
