Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Vendor Development Specialist to join our procurement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and nurturing relationships with suppliers, ensuring the procurement process aligns with organisational goals. The position involves working closely with cross-functional teams to identify new vendors, evaluate supplier capabilities, and drive continuous improvement in procurement activities.

Responsibilities

- Identify and develop relationships with potential vendors to expand the organisation’s supply base.
- Conduct comprehensive supplier assessments, including quality, delivery, and cost analysis.
- Negotiate favourable terms, prices, and contractual agreements with suppliers to optimise procurement outcomes.
- Manage the onboarding process for new vendors, ensuring compliance with organisational standards and policies.
- Collaborate with logistics and supply chain teams to coordinate delivery schedules and optimise inventory levels.
- Utilise ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS to manage procurement data, track vendor performance, and generate reports.




- Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of vendor interactions, contracts, and performance metrics in relevant systems.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by analysing procurement processes and recommending enhancements.

Skills

- Strong negotiation skills to secure advantageous terms while maintaining positive supplier relationships.
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles to ensure seamless procurement operations.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills to liaise confidently with internal teams and external vendors.
- Experience in sourcing strategies within diverse industries is desirable but not mandatory.
