Job Title: VMC Operator & Programmer

Department: Production / Machining Shop

Experience Required: 2 - 5 years

Machine Controls: Fanuc

Shift: Day / Rotating shifts

Key Responsibilities

Programming & Setup

Write, test, and edit G-code/M-code and 2D/3D CAM programs.

Interpret 2D/3D technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T; symbols.

Select proper cutting tools, tool holders, and fixtures.

Set up workpieces, clamp parts securely, and input work/tool offsets.

Run trial/first-piece components and verify dimensions before full production.

Operation & Monitoring

Load raw materials and run production batches.

Monitor spindle speeds, feed rates, and rapid rates for tool life and surface finish optimization.

Make live wear-offset adjustments to maintain tight tolerances.

Quality Control & Maintenance

Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and bore gauges.





Perform daily preventative maintenance (cleaning, lubricating, checking coolant levels).

Troubleshoot tool wear, vibration, alarms, or dimensional drift.

Maintain clean workspace and adhere to shop safety rules (PPE, interlocks).

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education: High school diploma + technical certification/diploma in mechanical engineering or CNC machining.

Technical Skills

Robust G-code & M-code proficiency.

Deep understanding of speeds, feeds, and material behavior (Copper, aluminum, steel, alloys).

Precision measuring tool competency.

Soft Skills: High attention to detail, problem-solving under tight schedules, and safety-first mindset.
