IMPORTANT INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE IS MANDATORY: Candidates should have hands-on procurement/purchase experience in aluminium doors & windows, glazing, fa•ade, uPVC doors & windows manufacturing, or closely related architectural building-material manufacturing. Generic procurement experience without relevant industry exposure is not preferred.
ROLE PURPOSE
Own and manage day-to-day procurement for ALCOGLAZE manufacturing, projects and site requirements, ensuring the right material, right quality, right price and right delivery at the right time.
Develop a dependable vendor network and continuously improve purchase cost, payment terms, lead times and supplier performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
¢ Plan and execute purchase requirements based on production plans, project BOQs, drawings, stores requirements and approved material specifications.
¢ Source and purchase aluminium profiles/extrusions, glass, hardware, accessories, gaskets, EPDM, silicone, sealants,
fasteners, ACP/cladding materials and fabrication consumables.
¢ Source uPVC profiles, reinforcement, hardware and accessories where applicable.
¢ Obtain multiple quotations, prepare comparative statements and negotiate price, quality, credit period, freight, taxes and delivery commitments.
¢ Develop new vendors and maintain strong relationships with approved suppliers, manufacturers, stockists and fabricators.
¢ Issue purchase orders and track order acknowledgement, production status, dispatch and delivery until material reaches the required location.
¢ Coordinate closely with production, projects, engineering, stores,
accounts and management to prevent material shortages and project delays.
¢ Check supplier offers against specifications, quantities, brands, system compatibility, drawings/BOQs and previous purchase rates.
¢ Maintain supplier database, price history, purchase records, lead-time records, payment terms and vendor performance history.
¢ Support cost reduction through alternate suppliers, rate contracts, bulk negotiation, value engineering and total landed-cost comparison.
¢ Monitor incoming material quality and coordinate resolution of shortages, damages, wrong specifications and supplier non-conformities.
¢ Follow up on invoices, GRNs/material receipts and documentation with accounts and stores.
TECHNICAL PROCUREMENT KNOWLEDGE PREFERRED
¢ Practical understanding of aluminium window/door and fa•ade systems, profiles, mullions/transoms, accessories and system hardware.
¢ Working knowledge of architectural glass such as toughened, laminated, DGU/IGU and related processing requirements is an advantage.
¢ Knowledge of glazing materials including silicone, structural sealants, gaskets, EPDM, setting blocks, fasteners and related consumables.
¢ Understanding of uPVC window/door profiles, steel reinforcement, hardware and installation accessories is an advantage.
¢ Ability to understand basic BOQs, material descriptions, profile/system codes, sizes, quantities and technical specifications.
¢ Ability to compare technically equivalent materials before making commercial recommendations.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
¢ Minimum 4 years of relevant procurement/purchase experience; 47 years preferred.
¢ Mandatory exposure to aluminium doors & windows, glazing, fa•ade, uPVC doors & windows or architectural building-material manufacturing.
¢ Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Commerce, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field preferred.
¢ Strong negotiation, vendor development, follow-up and commercial judgement.
¢ Good MS Excel skills; ERP/purchase software experience preferred.
¢ Robust communication and coordination skills with production, engineering, projects and accounts.
¢ Organised, commercially aware and capable of working independently under delivery deadlines.
¢ Candidates currently working with or having worked for established aluminium/glazing/fa•ade/uPVC manufacturers are strongly preferred.
