Role Overview: We are hiring for one of our clients, seeking a Web Research Specialist to work on a full-time basis. The role focuses on building an evaluation benchmark for frontier AI browsing agents by designing research problems that a state‑of‑the‑art AI cannot solve, even with full web access and multiple attempts. The work is investigative research, not content writing or subject‑matter expertise, and requires constructing questions that are verifiable yet extremely hard for the AI to locate.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design natural‑language research questions that have short, stable, objectively verifiable answers and span multiple fact types such as dates, people, places, organisations, works, events, records, and quantities.
- Create a complete, auditable evidence trail for each question, citing exact pages, tables, and sections rather than homepages.
- Document the validation record showing the obvious searches performed, the results returned, and the constraints applied to ensure the AI’s failure.
- Conduct open‑web research that includes locating primary records, navigating government and institutional databases, archives, registries, and PDF documents.
- Produce structured documentation with high precision and consistency, meeting the tolerance required for benchmark construction.

Required Skills & Qualifications:





- Master’s degree or more than three years of relevant experience, demonstrating advanced research capability.
- Proven ability to locate primary records and navigate complex government, institutional, and archival databases with precision.
- Strong written English skills at a native or near‑native level, enabling clear articulation of research questions and evidence trails.
- Experience in LLM evaluation, red‑team testing, or benchmark construction within domains such as reference librarianship, investigative journalism, OSINT, patent search, genealogy, or competitive puzzle design.
- Comfort researching unfamiliar subjects from scratch and delivering structured, verifiable documentation.
