Duty Hours 8 Hours per Shift
Shift :Rotational Shift / Day & Night Duty
Weekly Off: As per duty roster
Joining: Immediate / As per Management Requirement2. JOB PURPOSE To perform routine and emergency X-ray examinations safely and efficiently, maintain required image quality, ensure patient and radiation safety, maintain accurate records, and support smooth functioning of the Radiology Department.
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIESA. Patient Care
- Receive and identify patients and verify the prescribed X-ray examination.
- Explain the procedure clearly to the patient.
- Maintain patient privacy, dignity and safety.
- Handle pediatric, elderly, emergency and critically ill patients carefully.
- Ensure correct patient identification before every examination.
B. X-Ray Procedures
- Perform routine and emergency X-ray examinations as prescribed.
- Position patients correctly according to the examination required.
- Select appropriate exposure factors and techniques.
- Operate X-ray, CR/DR and related imaging equipment safely.
- Ensure technically appropriate diagnostic images.
- Perform repeat exposures only when technically necessary.
C. Radiation Safety
- Follow radiation-safety rules, hospital protocols and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Use radiation-protection devices appropriately.
- Follow the ALARA principle and minimize unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Maintain safety of patients, staff and attendants during examinations.
- Immediately report radiation-safety concerns or equipment abnormalities.
D. Image Quality & Records
- Check images for proper positioning, exposure, identification and quality.
- Ensure correct patient/examination details on images and records.
- Upload/store images correctly through CR/DR/PACS as applicable.
- Maintain X-ray registers and other departmental records.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and diagnostic records.
E. Emergency / Portable X-Ray
- Give priority to emergency cases according to hospital protocol.
- Coordinate with Emergency, ICU, HDU, OT, wards and other departments.
- Perform portable/mobile X-ray examinations where authorized and required.
- Take appropriate precautions while handling critically ill patients.
F. Equipment & Department
- Conduct basic daily equipment checks before starting examinations.
- Keep the X-ray room and equipment clean and organized.
- Report equipment malfunction immediately.
- Coordinate with Maintenance/Service Engineers for equipment-related issues.
- Ensure proper availability of required accessories and consumables.
G. Infection Control & Biomedical Waste
- Follow hand-hygiene and infection-control practices.
- Use PPE according to patient condition and procedure.
- Clean/disinfect equipment and contact surfaces as required.
- Follow biomedical waste segregation and disposal procedures.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic Radiology Department.
H. Professional Conduct
- Maintain punctuality, discipline, professional grooming and proper uniform/ID.
- Communicate respectfully with patients, attendants and hospital staff.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Coordinate professionally with Radiologists, doctors, nurses and other departments.
- Follow hospital policies, SOPs, quality standards and management instructions.
4. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
Essential:
- Diploma in X-Ray Technology / Radiology Technology / Medical Imaging Technology or
- B.Sc.
in Radiology / Medical Imaging Technology or equivalent recognized qualification.
Preferred:
- Additional training/certification in CT, MRI, CR/DR, PACS or advanced imaging technology.
5. EXPERIENCE
- 1–3 years of relevant hospital/diagnostic-centre experience preferred.
- Candidates with relevant qualification and strong practical skills may be considered.
- Experience in Emergency, ICU and portable X-ray will be an added advantage.

7. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
The X-Ray Technician will be evaluated on:
- Quality of diagnostic images.
- Timely completion of examinations.
- Correct patient identification and documentation.
- Radiation-safety compliance.
- Control of unnecessary repeat exposures.
- Emergency/portable X-ray response time.
- Equipment readiness and timely reporting of faults.
- Infection-control compliance.
- Patient service and complaint management.
- Compliance with hospital SOPs and departmental protocols.
8. WORKING CONDITIONS
- 8-hour rotational shifts as per hospital roster.
- Night duty may be required.
- Emergency duty may be required.
- Duty may be assigned on Sundays and public holidays as per roster.
- Portable X-ray duties may be required in ICU, Emergency, OT and wards.
- Employee must comply with hospital safety, radiation protection, infection-control and confidentiality requirements.
9. ACCOUNTABILITY The X-Ray Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient performance of assigned radiological examinations, patient safety, radiation protection, image quality, equipment handling, documentation and skilled conduct.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
