About the Role

As a Spoken English Trainer, you will play an important role in helping young people become more confident communicators and better prepared for the world of work.

You'll facilitate engaging Spoken English sessions, assess learner progress, provide individual feedback, and mentor students throughout their learning journey.

You'll work with batches of approximately 25–30 learners, creating a classroom environment where students feel comfortable participating, making mistakes, asking questions, and growing in confidence.

This role is not just about teaching grammar or vocabulary.

It's about helping a young person find their voice.

What You'll Do

Deliver Engaging Spoken English Training

- Conduct interactive and practical Spoken English sessions using the prescribed curriculum.
- Facilitate activities that encourage learners to speak, listen, interact, and communicate confidently.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and learner-centric classroom environment.
- Prepare lesson plans and learning materials for effective training delivery.
- Adapt your facilitation style based on learner needs and classroom dynamics.
- Encourage active participation and consistent learner engagement.
- Make English learning practical and relevant to higher education and workplace situations.

Mentor & Support Learners Your role will extend beyond the classroom.

You will:





- Assess learner progress through regular evaluations, activities, and classroom participation.
- Provide individual feedback and coaching.
- Identify areas where learners need additional support.
- Mentor students to improve their communication and confidence.
- Encourage learners who may hesitate to speak or participate.
- Motivate students to remain engaged and successfully complete the program.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with learners from diverse backgrounds.

Track Progress & Reporting Good training requires consistent tracking of learner progress.

You will:

- Maintain accurate attendance records.
- Track learner assessments and progress.
- Document training activities and outcomes.
- Share regular training updates with the Master Trainer.
- Prepare and submit required reports on time.
- Ensure learner and training documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Flag learner engagement or performance concerns to the relevant team members.

Collaborate With the Lighthouse Team You'll work closely with the broader program team to strengthen learner outcomes.

This includes:

- Collaborating with the Master Trainer and centre team.
- Sharing classroom insights and learner feedback.
- Contributing ideas to improve training quality.
- Supporting learner engagement initiatives.
- Participating in centre activities and workshops.
- Supporting events and other Lighthouse initiatives whenever required.
- Contributing to a positive and collaborative centre culture.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications

- Graduate or Postgraduate in any discipline.

Experience

- 1–2 years of experience in teaching, training, facilitation, Spoken English, communication skills, or a related field.
- Experience working with young adults or learners from diverse backgrounds will be an advantage.

Language & Communication Skills

You should have:

- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Ability to communicate effectively in Telugu.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Confidence in facilitating group discussions and classroom activities.

Training & Facilitation Skills We're looking for someone who can:

- Comfortably handle batches of 25–30 learners.
- Manage a classroom positively and effectively.
- Make sessions interactive rather than lecture-driven.
- Encourage participation from learners with different confidence levels.




- Give constructive and empathetic feedback.
- Build trust and rapport with young people.

Digital Skills

- Basic digital literacy is required.
- Willingness to support or teach basic digital skills.
- Comfortable using basic digital tools for documentation, communication, and reporting.
