We are looking for a seasoned Retail Domain & Solution Architect with solid experience in the US retail industry to provide retail domain leadership, solution architecture, technology consulting, and engineering direction for our retail clients.

The individual will work closely with US-based retail clients, senior business and technology stakeholders, product teams, engineering teams, and internal leadership to understand business challenges, define technology solutions, modernize existing applications, and drive the architecture and engineering delivery of scalable retail platforms.

This is a senior, hands-on, client-facing architecture and consulting role requiring a strong combination of retail domain expertise, software engineering, architecture, consulting, stakeholder management, and commercial awareness.

Key Responsibilities

Retail Domain & Architecture Leadership

- Act as a Retail Domain Subject Matter Expert and trusted technology advisor across client engagements.
- Bring strong understanding of the US retail ecosystem, business processes, technology landscape, and evolving retail trends.
- Provide expertise across key retail functions including Merchandising & Planning, Pricing & Promotions, Product & Catalog Management, Order Management, Inventory & Supply Chain, Store Operations, Point of Sale (POS), E-commerce & Digital Commerce, Customer & Loyalty, Omni channel / Unified Commerce, Payments, Retail Analytics & Personalization. (any 3-5 areas)
- Engage with senior client stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate business problems into practical retail technology solutions.
- Establish credibility with client executives, product leaders, architects, and engineering organizations through strong retail domain and technology expertise.
- Define and communicate technology vision, architecture strategy, solution roadmaps, and transformation approaches for retail clients.

Solution Architecture & Modernization

- Define end-to-end solution architecture for new applications, platforms, and large-scale transformation initiatives.
- Assess existing retail applications and recommend modernization, re-platforming, re-engineering, application rationalization, or optimization strategies.
- Design scalable, secure, resilient, maintainable, and cost-effective solutions aligned with business outcomes.
- Balance technical excellence with business priorities, delivery timelines, cost, risk,



and operational considerations.

Client Consulting & Solutioning

- Work directly with US retail clients and senior stakeholders to understand business priorities, technology challenges, and transformation opportunities.
- Lead discovery sessions, architecture workshops, technology assessments, solutioning sessions, and executive presentations.
- Provide strategic recommendations on retail technology strategy, application modernization, cloud transformation, and engineering approaches.
- Support RFP/RFI responses, proposals, solution presentations, estimations, discovery workshops and client pitches.
- Influence client technology decisions through strong consulting, communication, storytelling, and executive-level engagement.
- Identify opportunities where additional technology capabilities can create value for clients and support account teams in developing those opportunities

Engineering & Delivery Leadership

- Provide architectural direction and technical leadership to distributed engineering teams across the US and India.
- Translate architecture into practical, executable engineering plans and ensure successful implementation.
- Review high-level and detailed designs and ensure alignment with architecture and enterprise standards.
- Work closely with engineering leaders to resolve complex technical, architectural, and retail-domain challenges.
- Influence teams and stakeholders without direct authority, driving alignment across product, architecture, engineering, and business organizations.
- Ensure architecture decisions result in solutions that are deliverable, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business outcomes.
- Influence and guide engineering teams on architecture, design standards, technical quality and implementation practices.

Digital, Data & Emerging Technology

- Evaluate opportunities to leverage Cloud, AI/GenAI, Data & Analytics, Automation, APIs, and modern engineering practices within retail solutions.
- Identify opportunities where emerging technologies can improve customer experience, personalization,



operational efficiency, retail decision-making, and business performance.
- Partner with internal technology and AI teams to incorporate relevant emerging capabilities into retail solutions.
- Provide thought leadership on the practical adoption of emerging technologies within the retail ecosystem.

Required Skills & Experience

- 15+ years of overall IT/software engineering experience, with significant experience in retail technology.
- Strong US retail domain experience with deep understanding of retail business processes and technology ecosystems.
- Experience working directly with US-based retail organizations and senior client stakeholders.
- Strong background in Solution Architecture, Application Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, and Software Engineering.
- Demonstrated experience designing and modernizing large-scale enterprise retail applications and platforms.
- Strong understanding of legacy application modernization, cloud transformation, and digital transformation.
- Experience with modern retail platforms, commerce ecosystems, or retail enterprise applications.
- Solid ability to connect business objectives retail domain processes technology architecture engineering execution.
- Excellent communication, presentation, consulting, influencing, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both business executives and technical engineering teams.
- Demonstrated ability to operate as a trusted advisor and technology thought leader, rather than purely as a technical architect.
