Role Description The SME (Subject Matter Expert) – English is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru South. The role involves designing and refining English curricula and lesson plans that align with CBSE and the school’s integrated program. Daily responsibilities include supporting classroom teaching, developing learning materials, conducting assessments, and ensuring that instructional content meets defined academic standards.

The SME English collaborates with teachers to enhance pedagogical practices, mentors educators on effective English teaching methodologies, and participates in academic reviews and training sessions.



The role also includes coordinating with school leadership to improve language outcomes and contribute to enrichment activities such as workshops, clubs, and competitions.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong English Teaching and Training skills, including curriculum development and pedagogy for school-level learners.

- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills for interaction with students, colleagues, and parents, and for delivering clear academic guidance.

- Candidates should possess Translation and Customer Service skills to support diverse language needs and maintain constructive engagement with the school community.

- Candidates should possess a solid understanding of CBSE English standards and child-centered teaching practices.

- Relevant qualifications such as a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field; B.Ed or equivalent teacher training is preferred.

- Prior experience as an English teacher, academic coordinator, or subject matter expert in a school workplace is highly beneficial.

- Ability to design assessments, analyze student performance data, and implement improvement strategies.
