The Site Engineer - PHE (Public Health Engineering) is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and executing all plumbing, water supply, drainage, sewage, stormwater, and associated public health engineering works in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules.
The role involves overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of domestic water systems, sanitary drainage networks, stormwater drainage systems, underground utility services, sewage collection systems, sump pits, water storage tanks, pumping systems, rainwater harvesting systems, and water treatment facilities.
Key responsibilities include reviewing construction drawings, shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and technical specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable codes and standards. The engineer shall coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other disciplines including Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Fire Protection teams to ensure smooth execution and integration of PHE systems.
The Site
Engineer shall monitor site progress, manage manpower and resources, supervise installation activities, conduct inspections, resolve technical issues, and ensure timely completion of project milestones.
Additional responsibilities include coordinating pressure testing, hydro-testing, leak testing, flushing, disinfection, and commissioning activities, maintaining progress and inspection records, preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports, and ensuring all works comply with approved quality plans and HSE requirements. The engineer shall also support authority inspections, coordinate with utility service providers, manage project documentation, and assist in project handover and preparation of as-built drawings.
Experience in Data Centre, Commercial Buildings, Industrial Facilities, Healthcare Projects, Infrastructure Developments, or Mission Critical Facilities is preferred. The candidate should possess strong knowledge of plumbing systems, water supply networks, drainage systems, pumping stations, utility coordination, testing and commissioning procedures, and relevant standards such as IPC, UPC, IS Codes, and local authority regulations.
A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Civil Engineering with 3 + years of relevant experience is required. Robust technical, planning, coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for successful project execution and reliable operation of public health engineering systems.
