Senior US Insurance Underwriting Expert / SME – AI Evaluation (8-12+ years’ experience)

Duration: 10-15 hrs/week (4 Weeks)

Compensation: USD $70-$125/hour (based on experience)

We’re seeking experienced insurance underwriting professionals to support an AI-focused project with a leading insurance AI company. The project involves evaluating and improving AI-generated insurance outputs using real-world underwriting expertise and industry judgment.

The ideal candidates will bring 8-12+ years of hands-on underwriting experience in the U.S. insurance market, with real underwriting authority and decision-making experience.

We’re particularly interested in expertise in one or more of the following areas:

- Middle-Market / Senior Commercial P&C;
- Specialty & E&S;
- Individual Life

What You’ll Do

- Evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, quality, and alignment with real-world underwriting practices
- Create scenarios, inputs, and evaluation criteria to assess AI performance
- Review and assess insurance-related content and identify inaccuracies, gaps, or inconsistencies




- Provide expert feedback and judgment to help improve AI systems
- Apply your practical underwriting knowledge to a range of insurance-related evaluation tasks

What We’re Looking For

- 8-12+ years of qualified underwriting experience
- Significant experience working with U.S. insurance markets
- Demonstrated underwriting authority and hands-on decision-making experience
- Background such as Senior Underwriter, Underwriting Manager, Chief Underwriting Officer, Technical Underwriting Specialist, Program Underwriter , or equivalent senior-level roles
- Deep expertise in one or more of the target insurance lines
- Strong ability to evaluate insurance scenarios and explain the reasoning behind underwriting decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Not a Fit If: Your experience has primarily been in underwriting support, administrative, assistant, or non-decision-making roles. We’re specifically looking for professionals with real underwriting authority and practical industry judgment.
