Hiring: Senior Technical Writer – Hardware & Software

We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Writer to create and maintain high-quality documentation across our product portfolio spanning hardware devices and companion software.

This is a Full-Time | Onsite opportunity for someone who can work closely with Engineering, Product, QA, Support, and UX/UI teams and translate complex technical concepts into clear, accurate, user-friendly documentation.

Key Responsibilities

- Create and maintain hardware documentation including installation guides, wiring diagrams, hardware specifications, quick-start guides, and service manuals.
- Develop software documentation including user guides, administrator guides, release notes, API/SDK references, and in-product help.
- Work closely with Engineering, Product Management, QA, and Support teams to gather and validate technical information.
- Translate complex hardware, firmware, and software behavior into documentation for end users, installers/technicians, and developers.
- Create and maintain technical diagrams, schematics, screenshots, and illustrations.
- Establish documentation standards, templates, style guides, and content-reuse practices.
- Maintain documentation across hardware revisions, firmware updates, and software releases.
- Conduct hands-on testing of hardware devices and software applications to validate documented procedures and specifications.
- Collaborate with UX/UI teams to ensure documentation accurately reflects product interfaces and workflows.
- Manage multiple documentation projects across overlapping product release schedules.




- Prepare documentation for localization and international product releases.

Required Skills & Qualifications

5+ years of professional Technical Writing experience

Experience documenting both hardware and software products

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and hardware specifications

Experience with API documentation, user guides, admin guides, and release notes

Hands-on experience with Adobe FrameMaker, Confluence, or similar authoring/CMS platforms

Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Visio, or equivalent diagramming tools

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Comfortable working with physical hardware in a lab/bench-testing setting

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Experience

Security / Access Control products

Networking / IoT / Embedded Systems

Firmware or embedded software documentation

Structured authoring and single-sourcing/content reuse

Basic electronics knowledge
