04 | Senior Sustaining Engineer – Production Support

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a Sustaining Engineer to provide ongoing technical support, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement for production software platforms. The role focuses on maintaining reliability after deployment, resolving production issues, performing root-cause analysis, implementing fixes, and working closely with engineering and customer-facing teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide technical support for production applications and platforms.
- Monitor, investigate, and resolve production incidents.
- Troubleshoot across application, infrastructure, database, and integration layers.
- Analyze logs, metrics, traces, and system behavior to identify issues.
- Perform root-cause analysis for recurring and critical incidents.
- Implement bug fixes, patches, configuration changes, and improvements.
- Work with development, DevOps, and deployment teams to resolve complex issues.
- Support application upgrades, releases, migrations, and maintenance.
- Participate in incident management and post-incident reviews.
- Develop troubleshooting guides, runbooks, and knowledge-base documentation.
- Identify recurring operational problems and automate or eliminate them.
- Track production issues through resolution and communicate with stakeholders.




- Improve system performance, reliability, and operational processes.
- Participate in technical support interactions when required.
- Provide knowledge transfer and mentoring to other support engineers.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED SKILLS

GOOD TO HAVE

- 5+ years in software engineering, production support, application support, SRE, DevOps, or sustaining engineering.
- Kubernetes and Helm.
- Robust Linux/Unix experience.
- Prometheus / Grafana.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- ELK / OpenSearch.
- Python, Bash, or scripting experience.
- CI/CD experience.
- Production application troubleshooting.
- Terraform / Infrastructure as Code.
- APIs, microservices, and distributed applications.
- AI/ML application support.
- Docker and Kubernetes.
- SaaS platform experience.
- AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Customer-facing technical support.
- Databases and SQL.
- 24x7 production support / on-call experience.
- Logs, monitoring, and observability tools.
- Networking fundamentals.
- Incident management and root-cause analysis.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
