Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior ABAP / SAP UI5 Developer with strong expertise in both backend ABAP development and contemporary SAP Fiori/UI5 front-end design. This role owns the full stack of custom SAP development — from OData services and ABAP enhancements to responsive, user-centered Fiori applications — and works closely with functional teams, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions. The ideal candidate combines deep technical skill with strong UX judgment and can lead design and development decisions with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain custom ABAP objects including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows (RICEFW) across SAP modules.

Build and enhance SAP Fiori/UI5 applications, including custom apps, Fiori Elements apps, and extensions to standard Fiori apps.

Design and implement OData services (both RAP — RESTful ABAP Programming Model — and classic Gateway/SEGW) to expose backend data and logic to UI5 and Fiori front ends.

Apply modern ABAP development practices using ABAP Development Tools (ADT) in Eclipse, including object-oriented ABAP (ABAP OO), CDS views, AMDP, and clean core principles.

Translate business and UX requirements into intuitive, responsive Fiori/UI5 designs, following SAP Fiori design guidelines and UX best practices.

Own end-to-end delivery of custom UI5 applications: architecture, data binding, routing, fragments/views, custom controls, and performance tuning.

Configure and extend the Fiori Launchpad, including tiles, groups, catalogs, roles, and navigation.

Collaborate with functional consultants (FI/CO, SD, MM, etc.) to gather requirements and design technically sound,



scalable solutions.

Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior and mid-level developers on ABAP and UI5 best practices.

Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, bugs, and production incidents across both backend ABAP and front-end UI5 layers.

Support system upgrades, S/4HANA conversions, and Fiori app migrations, including adapting custom code for compatibility.

Participate in technical design sessions, effort estimation, and sprint planning within an Agile/Scrum delivery model.

Create and maintain technical documentation for custom developments, interfaces, and extensions.

Ensure solutions align with SAP's clean core strategy, minimizing core modifications in favor of extensibility (BAdIs, enhancement spots, side-by-side extensions on BTP where applicable).

Required Qualifications

6+ years of hands-on ABAP development experience, including object-oriented ABAP, enhancements, BAdIs, user exits, and custom reports/interfaces.

4+ years of hands-on experience building SAP Fiori/UI5 applications, including custom SAPUI5 apps and Fiori Elements.

Strong experience with OData service development (SEGW and/or RAP/CDS-based services).

Proficiency with CDS views (including annotations for Fiori Elements), AMDP, and modern ABAP tools (ADT/Eclipse).

Solid understanding of SAP Fiori design principles,



responsive design, and SAP Fiori Launchpad configuration.

Experience with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and the SAPUI5/OpenUI5 framework (views, controllers, fragments, models, routing).

Familiarity with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), including Fiori Launchpad on BTP and/or side-by-side extensibility, is a plus.

Experience working in S/4HANA environments (on-premise, private cloud/RISE, or public cloud).

Strong understanding of SAP authorization concepts as they relate to custom apps and OData services.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work directly with business stakeholders to refine requirements.

Strong communication skills, with experience mentoring junior developers and presenting technical solutions to non-technical audiences.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

SAP certification(s) in ABAP, UI5/Fiori, or S/4HANA development.

Experience with the clean core methodology and extensibility guidelines for S/4HANA Cloud.

Exposure to SAP Build (formerly SAP Business Application Studio / low-code tools) for Fiori app extension.

Experience with version control and CI/CD pipelines for SAP development (e.g., abapGit, transport automation, Fiori tools deployment pipelines).

Prior experience in an implementation partner or consulting environment, delivering custom development on client SAP projects.

Familiarity with SAP Basis/security concepts (transports, roles, T-code access) to coordinate effectively with Basis teams

Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹2,200,000.00 per year
